The 2026-27 Premier League Thread

Never heard of him. He’s been appointed because the ownership is Saudi, I very much think so. Newcastle fans may well feel “What have the Saudis done for us?”. Isak gone, Tonali gone and Guimaresh?
In fairness Isak went to the league champions for a shitload more than he was worth. Tonali has gone on the back of a poor season and Guimares wants his ‘big’ move. The money is there but they can’t spend as much of it as they want. Their failures in the transfer market are down to the person in charge of them and is a big reason for Howe walking…

So what do we think the consequences will be?
We might be in for an absolutely mental start to the season as all the new manager bounce situations resolve themselves against each other.
Yes I think it will be very difficult to predict given the ridiculous amount of changes. Hopefully makes it more fun but I still think the promoted sides will all go straight down…

I bet Ross Wilson regrets leaving us to go to that shitpit

Let’s swap them Bakwa for Elanga

Agreed, your top player going on strike can’t be helped, but replacing him with Woltamaeda was sub optimal. You can’t blame him for jumping ship. Howe doesn’t NEED to work and constantly facing questions about his future must be waring.

You can see why he might want to have some “me time “.

Probably just means he is waiting for De Zerbi to rage-quit so he can take over at Spuds…

I thought de Zerbi was a good appointment but you can’t do much when your main players are injured. Same old Tottenham always tottering.
He is a decent manager but can start a fight in a phone box at the best of times so it will be fun seeing how long he lasts.

Coventry have fat frank and ipswitch have been up recently. Its not likely but they do have a chance imo

Its not just new managers, aside from CL usuals, the teams playing europe are untested and even manure are untested- they will all drop points in the league. Palarse might get very stretched.

Newcastle seem in turmoil, maybe they will need more than one manager this coming season?

A minimum of citeh and arsenal fighting out the league but everything else unpredictable.

Could make for the best congested scrap yet. All the more of a reason to get any deals done early so OG can get them playing as a team and get off to a flyer.

Can’t remember if our points reduction cost us a place or 2? If it did, EM should sue the FA for those lost place revenues plus our lawyer costs

That was for a breach for less than 2 months. These clowns, City, and Everton breached for years!

It doesn't cost us a place, 16th were on 39

But the EPL wanted a 10-12 point penalty!

Spurs have a large squad at best of times. They are buying as if money is going out of fashion. They will this weekend return from down under where the youths did quite well and others are battling for game time. They are not in Europe so 38 games plus cups. Who will De Zerbi put in his 25 and who will be deadwood? Fancy any of them. Some big ego’s. Loans if not buys. See they are in for a big Nigerian centre forward. No not Awoniyi.
