Bloody hell.
I doubt many fans will massively mourn Howe but I imagine they were expecting a lot better than this guy as a replacement.
A title in the Austrian League, a stint in Saudi, and that's it.

German coach. Austrian career - not too dissimilar to Glasner . Bruno will be gone .

Looks to me as if Saudis have lost interest in the “project” they thought they would throw a shed load of money at it as they have other sports & everything would fall into place

Kind of but it’s Glasner before he really achieved all that much…
I mean look, the double in the Austrian league is not nothing. And I think he’s also won the Asian champions league.
But I imagine you’d get pretty good odds on this guy winning the Europa League, the conference league and several domestic cups in Europe…

Hopefully so to be honest. The whole phenomenon of petro states buying up clubs needs to end.

I would not have been impressed if we had appointed him, and I strongly suspect that if Howe had made his mind up weeks ago Newcastle would have gotten Glasner instead

Never heard of him. He’s been appointed because the ownership is Saudi, I very much think so. Newcastle fans may well feel “What have the Saudis done for us?”. Isak gone, Tonali gone and Guimaresh?

So what do we think the consequences will be?
We might be in for an absolutely mental start to the season as all the new manager bounce situations resolve themselves against each other.
Yes . I reckon Newcastle will end bottom half this season. Strange appointment for a big club with a lot of money

Acumen will really come into it, as we effectively have 12 new managers with the promoted clubs
60% of the teams will be somewhat unknown quantities
I think about 5 are genuinely new and have never managed in this league before
And then you have Spurs who have only had about 6 games with De Zerbi, and Carrick who has only been a caretaker up to now
