Today is the official start of the new season.

West Ham, Burnley and Wolves have transferred their share certificates back and had them burned in front of their noses

Coventry, Ipswich and Hull's problems now begin

Bizarrely, we have only 4 teams from the second half of the alphabet

We start the season in the relegation zone, so Pereira already under severe pressure

That's so unfair! Imagine every game was drawn and everyone had an identical goal difference - we'd be relegated on alphabetical grounds!

Unless we changed our name to just 'Forest' (Spurs should be even further down as they're really Tottenham but as it happens it makes no difference).

Interesting though, what are spurs in there as spurs rather than Tottenham or Tottenham Hotspur’s no other team is listed as a short hand

About a week ago the TalkSport drive show were talking about him going to one of the Prem teams currently looking for a manager... Palace seems to be the one that's in my head but honestly can't remember for definite.

Fulham were supposed to be interested in him.
 
McKenna has two years remaining on his contract - Ipswich will hold on to his registration even if they are not paying him, so if he is pulling a stunt it would not work.

Not that I think he is; he comes across as a decent sort.

I would be inclined to take him at his word and he is in need of a rest.

The CEO at Ipswich appears to have been informed this would happen a while back and has candidates lined up.

A perfectly good appointment that is also one of the leash exciting they could ever have made.

Annoying for Ipswich fans because his competency doesn't even give them much scope to moan. But it's just a bit meh

Hopefully he has a mare with their weak squad and that's another relegation place wrapped up
