The 2025-26 Summer Transfer Window Thread

Just a reminder for those saying ‘Told you so’ to Pope, we’re still in a worse position than this time last season… we’ve just signed Ndoye. I said at the time ‘I’m sure it’ll change and we’ll bring players in’ but made the point that we haven’t got enough players into maximise impact for the season and that pre season has become a waste… well 1 goal in 4 games suggests that’s still a valid comment

You were almost as bad as Pope last few weeks with the negatives

Personally I think we've improved already

But definitely more to come regardless

Im very excited about the new season myself

More excited than ever tbh

Our starting XI today, is arguably stronger than it was by the time we played our first game last season.
We don't kick off for another III** weeks. In that time we shall strengthen the depth of our matchday squad. This may take up until the window SLAMS shut at the end of the month. Have faith brother.

**that's three in Roman numerals, which I*** started the reply with, so continued for consistency.

*** That's I, as in myself, not one in Roman numerals

i am cautiously optimistic but there seems to be a bit being made of the fact that Nuno may want to tweak our style of play.

With this in mind and the fact that more new players are expected but not in time for a full pre-season could suggest we get of to a slower start.

this time last season we had a squad that narrowly escaped relegation, now we have all but one of the same squad with some additions. Depends how you judge it, in terms of our system, character, belief and team togetherness we are way ahead of this time last season, if you want to judge solely on who's in and who's out well only time will tell.

getting all your targets in in time for pre-season is not really realistic for a club like Forest but this probably will impact the start to the season.

Not really because we've not played any half with our full first team and we also have Jesus. The results are pretty pointless and its about fitness. All the same players are here so should know the system and then its a matter of getting new players up to speed

We'll be fine particularly as we haven't got the worst of starts Everyone will be up to speed by the end of the first international break

Redchops the core group is here and ready to learn . You got to remember that not many of the players we are signing are coming from ultra-counterattacking team like us . They'll be coming from teams who have more possession so it wont be alien with our tweaked system

Hope that it was not the negativity on here that put you in hospital! Glad that you're feeling better!
Its always been a concern of mine that the negativity on here can affect others who are just managing to keep "a lid on it". It can be overwhelming at times.
Get well soon big fella.

well, im back in hospital and had a stent yesterday. feel like crap, but hopefully start feeling better soon.
Reading Ndoye is official, and potentially Luiz to join on loan, has certainly given me a lift in spirits.
Thanks for the comments over the last couple of days. It means a lot as none of you know me. Trust me it has helped.
Get well soon Stanley, hopefully lots of good news to keep your spirits up 👍

So Marinakis is buying Botafogo and along with that we get a Belgian club too?

Textor runs those clubs. Is this true?

Owd Jock knows his midfield players.

I just hope he has retained his ability after a disappointing 18 months
Yep - he has the potential to be integral to our top six challenge. Bodes well that he has apparently taken a pay cut and am confident that Nuno will get the best from him.

I do hope we are still in for Fernandes though - that would be another step up for us although it would put huge question marks against some players futures.

Your European MD and Nottingham Forest/ Marinakis have absolutely nothing in common

I never said anyone was panicking. Others said I was panicking, which was not the case.

I said I was concerned with the window as it was and the progress so close to the season, and with our bonding trip to Portugal underway. Clearly Marinakis was too
Pope, even with my English I understood that you were panicking. There's nothing wrong with that when you're so dedicated to the club.

Maybe if it was first eleven playing every minute but the U 21 team has been heavily used as have the fringe players. Carmo has played left back and Abbott right. CHO number 8. Cunha has already played more minutes than Milenkovic had at this stage (he signed in mid July). Jota signed Aug 1st and Sosa mid August. Are we in a worse position than last season?
