The 2025-26 Summer Transfer Window Thread

By end of this season Bindon will have 100 ish senior games under his belt at Reading and for New Zealand. He won't be much younger than when Murillo joined us himself

100 senior games is a hell of a lot of experience for a 20 year old.

Murillo had only played 13 senior games in Brazil when he joined us (what a piece of recruitment that's proving to be by the way!)

I think Bindon could well become part of our squad and rotation next season based on the above and if he is as good as people say. Lots of minutes to be had and opportunities to learn for him.

Worst case we look at him in the squad in pre season to see if he is ready to contribute or not and needs another loan
Bindon has played defensive midfield. Circumstances dictated he played at RB then progressed to CB. Could play in back three and move forward into a CDM role. Has versatility which Nuno will like.

Also a centre back getting experience of playing in lower league in England is brilliant experience for toughening someone up

And hes clearly passed with flying colours so far

Very comfortable on the ball by all accounts

Which is why I've earmarked him as cover for Murillo

But 6ft3 and used to physical stuff in League 1

So potentially cover for Milo in due course

To start with would prefer Milo alongside him whilst he develops though

It could be that the club know Murillo is off in the summer, and Bindon, Morato and Carmo give the manager the option for going 3 OR 4 at the back.

While Murillo is still here, going 3 is a bit risky as Morato is having to switch to the right, but from summer we either have Morato and Bindon in the matchday squad with Carmo as cover, or we get another right sided centre back with Milenkovic dead centre.

Having a League 1 kid as a replacement for Murillo...dearie me, thought this kind of lego piece movements was consigned to the 2021 scrapeheap. Lordie!

It'll be Boly stepping up the plate when our big-chested Brazilian centre-back-cum-left-winger will be taken by Real Madrid.

Definitely in favour of looking at him in pre-season of course.

Oof, I hope not.

Carmo and Bindon are such unknown quantities. I’m all for giving people a look in pre-season but surely we’ve got to be aiming higher? We signed Carmo and loaned him to Oly at a time when no-one at the club would have even dreamed we’d be in this position in the league table.

I think most on here are barking up the wrong tree when it comes the CB's we have.

If we make CL, Murillo is staying for 1 more year. Even if its EL, its going to take 80-100m to sign him.

Boly and Oma are off, and Bindon replaces one of them. We will sign another top CB, with either PL experience, or another international standard CB.

I think Carmo will go on loan again somewhere.

If Murillo goes, we will sign 2 top CB's, with Bindon being our 5th.

Need someone who can play the ball from the back if Murillo goes

Bindon can do that
All we can say about Bindon is that he is 6ft 2 inches tall and is very highly rated by the Reading fans. At 20 years of age he would have to be extra special to challenge for a place in the first eleven of one of the big clubs in the Premiership such as ourselves. We’ll have to wait and see on this one but our recruitment people seem to know what they’re doing.

If we get UCL, I think we can have the pick of the cherries. A cheeky bid for that winger from boring mouth.

More Murillo's on the way ..!! Via Sao Paolo
We couldn’t sign Riquelme Filipe last year being U 18. His price has increased along with his goals. The youth team arrangement means we would be able to sign players like Riquelme but they remain in Brazil till after 18th birthday. Could then move to Rio, Oly or Forest depending on career development. It stops Chelsea signing all good young players.
