The 2022 Summer Transfer /Rumours Thread

Not a lot happening in the Pool transfer market is there!

Looks like we shall be playing with virtually all of our last seasons squad. I would be content with a mid table finish after the Quitcritch affair of our new season. My only hope is that Grimshaw becomes our No.1 keeper and Eckey is made our Captain Marvel.

In SS we trust.

Onwards and upwards. UTMP. :clown:

Think it's just a very different transfer window for us, at least in my opinion.

First time in recent memory that we've got a full squad of players, not having lost any key ones to free transfers.

We've traditionally shopped in free transfers, but this year the main problem is probably clearing some players out and then going for 3-5 really quality players.

Other than that, we probably only need 1 or 2 £1m-ish signings. And they don't tend to happen until players are back for preseason.

Appleton has always had big success with loanees, so i'd be suprised if we didnt max out our quota - i'm expecting at least 4 loanees which could make a big difference in the quality of our squad.

I think the Bowler situation will have a massive impact obviously on finances etc and how busy we are at the moment.

I just hope if he is going it’s sorted nice and early but I fear it’ll be one that drags until the last day of August and we are scrambling for a replacement last minute.

We don't know how Apple will like them up and whether The Hat fits into the structure. I'll be glad to see the back of him

I think its a nap Biwler will be sold, what does worry me is the figure of £1m being quoted for the Bournemouth interest. For that £ I would rather we kept him
I agree with the fact that the loan situation will be crucial dor us this season.
Would love to see Sterling back, but I would also love to us to have a wow signing.
Wow for me = Simms or Ballard.

Who do we think will be first out of the door? That's probably the #1 question for me at the minute, we need to make some space.

Unwanted Interest
- Bowler
- Gabriel?
- Grimshaw?
- Keshi?

Get Rid
- Thorniley? Not that he's bad, just think we can do better
- James? See Thorniley, we've got Garbutt and Husband for LB (and still I think it's an area we can improve in)
- Lubala - Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Available for Loan
- Casey?
- Dale?

Also think that Appleton will want improvements to the front line, but not sure who of the 4 (Beesley, Madine, Yates and Lavery) I'd be moving on - all have the ability to play.

For some reason I can't see Gabriel moving on just yet. I think he is really settled not just at the area but at the club too.
I'd rather move Maxwell than Grimmy but am realistic enough to know clubs may come in for him.
I'm hoping the change of manager may help keep Keshi, however I do think he was not the player that he was pre injury that he suffered mid season.

Agree Lubala Thorniley and James can go and I would even put Garbutt and Dale in to the mix.
Thorniley could go back to Oxfraud for me and make some way towards us finally getting Brannagan.

I rate Casey and would hope he can be a good CH for us but feel a season loan to lge 1 would help him.

Madine must stay, he is the muscle upfront. Lavery again looked a different player post injury and I thought Jerry was a goner under Quitchley and the story of him getting in to trouble whilst out socialising.

I'm not sure if we should get out any of the forwards out - they were starved of service kadt season and that is what needs remedial action from the new manager.

Ballard and Simms would just be immense signings for me.
Ballard already an international so I'm hoping Lavery can help influence him to come assuming the £ is there.

I think.the initial resentment towards Appleton will lower but SS knows we needs to stay in this league and that will take some spending to improve the squad.

As mentioned before this transfer window is crucial, for the fans, the new manager and the owner.
