Not sure, maybe something to do with her full respects for all the British Armed forces? Maybe because when she ruled you could wave the British flag without shame, or the feeling of being a racist? Maybe because she loved the country & was very pro British & very proud to be British on the global stage? Maybe because she had Russia and USA both eating out of her hands?
Don't know mate - maybe we have lost a lot of our identity as a great country since her departure?

Indeed Pride, the woman should have been hammered while she was still alive, just like J Saville, I don't see it as different responsibilities, aren't we all responsible, what difference does their political party make, a criminal is a criminal.

Agrees with Pride: I am not condoning her, however it went on in every circle back then. A blind eye was turned. We have only got to look at what has come out over the years since Saville died to know that.
How we are as society today, is very different from them. Even so much as going back to the 90's and new millennium it was still being covered up.
It doesn't make it right, because it isn't. Life as had to change for people to now understand those policies/turning a blind eye just weren't right, in any walk of life

Why change the habit of a lifetime?
An individuals sexual appetite has long been the target of those who want control over them, this hasn't changed, if anything, with the tech available, it's probably become easier.
Those who believe the Gov wouldn't do such a thing are those who make it easier for them to operate, they have, they do, they will.
