Correct. Manyoo have paid hundreds of millions for players that miss bigger sitters. It's football, fractions of a second to react. Carey is the best we've got. I don't get the hate? He's been picked by the last 6 managers, preferred over others who are stealing a living and described by the captain as the most gifted player in the squad. Not to mention he's won (Blackpool) player of the month over a player who won the divisional player of the month.

I remember all the way back to the early 70s and home fans were on Mickey Burns' case all through the game giving him abuse. I used to ask my Dad "why are our home fans doing this" to my favourite player. He just replied "they're idiots!" I've had players I've not liked but at the match I wouldn't shout abuse at them. Special breed of so called fans we have! 🤦

Fletcher now leading scorer on 8, Carey on 6. Fletcher on loan at Barnsley for half a season 9 years ago as a 19 year old. 🤷 Yeah Morgan Rogers was shite on loan for us too.

Carey had 1 league goal this season before today. He’s playing really well at the minute but most of the season he hasn’t been up to scratch.

He’s got the movement and the workrate to comfortably be a 10+ goal a season midfielder, but his finishing does let him down.

No doubt that Carey has improved this season.....

That name conjures up several things. Relief that he's gone. Happiness now we aren't having to watch that backpassing, suicide football. Justification that the midfield now has more energy, urgency and attacking intent . . . and goals!

As much as I didn't like him. And he is probably the player I disliked most in 50 odd years following Blackpool. I never resorted to shouting abuse at him or any other Blackpool player, EVER! I too am in the West and it grates me that so many vocally abuse our own players if they make 1 bad pass. Be it Carey, CJ, Fletcher or Tyrer.
 
You missed out the bigger back passer of them all - Evans🤣 and he has been frugging awful for months now.
At Barnsley I had a lovely couple behind me. A father and daughter combo (I assumed, either that or he was a sugar daddy) where he completely berated Carey all game and she literally shrieked every word of every song that was sung by the away following.

You'll be relieved to hear that I didn't join in with either.
Carey - I'll post my frustrations after a game rather than berate him, or any other player, during the match. I see our role at games to encourage and support the team, and I didn't join in any singing as her grating cackle literally went right through me.

I think it was clear after he scored at Barnsley that he had nothing but relief for the chances he had missed during the first half.
I actually laughed out loud at my tykes host who sent me the message "poppadom hands" for their keeper not saving the first goal.
I returned the message to him on Tues following Careys goal where frugg knows what their keeper was doing for it.

Im quite clear with my view that he isn't for me.

The fact he keeps getting motm, and comically club player of the month, are nothing more but encouragement for him to sign a new contract.
They did the same with CJ.

I tend to agree somewhat of Evans, he's not been up to scratch for a while, but why oh why do we keep focusing on the negatives like insisting on a fault of an opposition keeper rather than give Carey credit for good hard shots? Surely every thing he does is not bad? Who else better do we have available? Every Blackpool goal is appreciated as far as I'm concerned.

He's been foryunate in the last 2 games with those shots. If that was our keeper we would be fuming.
I keep highlighting what I think is his weakness - he has no positional awareness at all.
Watch tomorrow how players 5 yds from him lose him when moving forward - hre's not alone in this, Apter is just as guilty. The differe ce us this is Careys 3rd full season now and he hasn't got any better at it.
That's why in a 4 4 2 our midfield get overrun. Only takes scarey or morgan to go too far forward when we lose the ball then there's a 40/50yd space for opposition to run in to.
That's also why Norburn in a 3 5 2 had the midfield job of protecting the defence.
