Team vs Sheffield Utd

Out of all the other teams S U was the one that I feared the most and when they scored I thought my fears had come true as we were playing abysmally compared to them. I had to leave at half time and managed to make periodic checks - first check we were 1-1 which made me happy and then I checked the second time and inadvertently moved the BBC thread down and saw 2-1 but no report - had just happened and then it came in - just about choked on my double egg bacon hashed brown tomato sauce flavoured muffin!!!!!!!!!!!
 
Strange game last night.
First 20 mins were very poor.
Then improved, had many corners but crossing was bad.
We sit right on edge of box to see us attack on right hand side and springett / stacey just did not work.
Second half was so much better. Maghoma is such a great footballer at this level. Final 3 subs made the difference and we deserved to win.
4 added minutes was managed very well.
Not a great atmosphere last night but revved up in second half.
A good win and I left the ground very happy.

Maghoma was MOM bjt I reckon Cordoba was - he is so assured and even cheeky in getting clear especially the little back header and then turned and ran away form the attacker who had no idea where he disappeared to
 
Cordoba was announced MOM at the ground. Quite rightly in my opinion. A Sheffield player went down in our penalty area trying to claim a pen when Cordoba cleanly nicked the ball off him. He then tried to bring Cordoba down but José leapt over him and passed the ball up the field. That was the beginning of a series of moves that led to our second goal.

Second half was better in the first half; he seemed to be hitting the ball so hard to his teammate, and was maybe adapting to having Darling next to him. I thought Darling was decent too
 
Geesh - once we have all our players fit we have a great team - just those 4 subs made a big difference. Pele was all over the place though got booked for a bit of match fitnes clumsiness. We need our strikers back though. KV is doing a good job but since Toure was out our accurate shots on goal have diminished, still blazing over the top. Commentator ex player on RN said that KV was not fed well, wants it on a platter. Toure, Maghoma dont wait they just go with powerful runs. Ahmed needs to get his mojo back as they mark him out of the game too much. Pele Field and McClean midfield in a triangle with Pele as the link to the forwards is mind boggling. You can see the options PC has engendered into them and the oppo just wont know where its coming from. Looking forward to us thrashing Preston - we owe them a couple of nightmares.
