Zach Baumann was ready to be on the bench if slimane couldn't make it.

Pc goes up to chrisene and says don't do that to me you'll give me a heart attack....so I'm guessing chrisene is okay

Slimane says he has a groin issue that'll need managing but bug Phil gets what he wants so I played.

So.
Useless Ahmed and rubbish sub score both our goals. I think PC knows what he’s doing.

Actually, he had a good game.
I have never been a fan of Gibbs but today , I thought he had a great game. Not quite sure how Sky gave Ahmed player of the match. His corners were atrocious. There were definitely a few better candidates. PC has the makings of a superb coach because, I never saw our players as even remotely top 6 championship material. Would still struggle obviously in the prem but credit where it is due. We are now much more exiting to watch.

Ahmed plays on the left. The refs tend to stay around midfield unless there is an issue. The assistant ref only comes as far as the halfway line on that side and the other assistant is on the other side of the field.
That means that there are no officials in the immediate vicinity so fouls very often go unobserved. Ahmed is constantly being fouled and very rarely do the refs respond. He is extremely talented, some of the best ball handling I have observed but too often gets hacked off the ball.

Slimanes goal was brilliant - his forst shot hit the keeper his second he aimed it away from the keeper who was in the same position.
But - his celebration seemed muted - wagging his finger and trotting clear of the other players to the fans - I sensed a touch of indignance - 'see what I can do and I'm only a sub' - am I reading this wrong or is he a bit arrogant or just a quiet chap not prone to a visual display of excitement. Is his 'rise' in NCFC First team not where he expects to be and isnt taking kindly to subs bench in the first instance. Personally I would have thought that first goal against Leicester was massive for the club and he and it deserved a far more enthusiastic celebration and allowing his teammates to join in early not just at the corner flag.

Manning was not in a good place from the beginning losing his daughter. He made some bad decisions and it was clear he was a round peg in a square hole. That said Phillipe is vastly more intelligent and has brought out the best of almost all his players. It’s a pity that Sargent was not smart enough to listen to him although I suspect that he had already made his decision before PC arrived.

PC intimated that other outside pressures of those around him influenced him - not all his choice of option it seems.

I think you might be miss-reading Steve but you are right, he deserves a start.

I watched the 90 mins CK and had a totally different feeling about it - Slimane seemed to be deliberately left alone other than passing touches after he scored and went to the fans and then turned and hugs were taken - I think he may have a request understanding to let him be whilst he does his spiritual thanks and savours the moment on his own.
