Late calls on Stacey and Chrisene

Said it has been tough on the players as they didn't get home until 3 am on Thursday, then training and then a game on the weekend.

Says Gibbs will most likely be the RB if Stacey and Chrisene can't make it.

Schlupp is back training on the grass and should be back in a couple of weeks.

Says emi will leave

Australia Socceroos have not picked Toure for their two friendlies down under so he's saved the trip down here and his recovery is unhampered which is a good result for City - didnt need him aggravated in a friendly.

I missed the game as out with the kids.

Was it a good match? Did we dominate? BBC had it that we setup up with a new formation 3-2-4-1

Who was our best player

We dominated until the last ten minutes and then were forced to defend, which we left a few opportunities for them to score. However Charlton could not put their chances away.
There were some smart moves in the opposition penalty box but they didn’t pay off.
Most of our players contributed but I think Matsson edged it.

Same formation Gibbs just replaced Stacey. I thoughts Gibbs played well and RB suits him. I thought it was a good game and agree with Rex that we dominated until the last 10 minutes and that everyone put in a good performance.

I just couldnt make the game - 01:00 KO and by 23:30 I was done so crawled off to bed - probably the 300g rump steak dinner didnt help either or the bad night I had the night before - oh well getting old is crap - will savour the 90 min full replay. Glad we won.
I did look at the first half of Brighton / Liverpool match and tha was scary to watch - fast, accurate pin point passing end to end and two really good goals - no way we could we live with them like that - its another level. We're safe now, lets really see how far we can climb now - 9 points adrift of the playoffs 7 games to go - I think that equation is a blessing in disguise for us - next season? - a totally different issue, that said, we have to get more pace, talent and accuracy in across the board becuase closedown is instant - how some of those zog zag passes B & L did in so tight spaces between half a dozen players on a postage stamp, one touches only, was amazing to watch.

Late back from the game last night so only just back to work and on PC.
Nightmare day for trains to London and back but a good away win without conceding which is a rarity for our regular party of 4 away game group.

Liverpool Street station closed so 2 trains each way to Kings X.
Train 1. Rattler to Ely and had to stand up on crowded train for an hour.
Train 2. Lucky to get seats on train already in and ok to Kings X.

Held back after game for 30 mins and than queue for train was another half an hour. Eventually back to Kings X and not even time for a pint.

Train 3. Had to sit in first class but all aisles packed with standing people.
Train 4. Massive rush to change onto Norwich train. Got seats somehow but train totally packed with peoples squashed in aisles. Not
possible to even get to toilets.

Finally got back to Norwich about 9.45 and home at 10.00 pm.
That is 5 hours of travelling to go 100 miles.
We needed seats as one of our group is still recovering from serious illness after an op and was totally knackered on way back.

As for the game. Great away support. Not any noise from home fans for entire game. Great start with the goal and then 2 more reasonable chances to increase the lead but comfortable until half time.
Our issue was not creating chances but the ball from deep to get to the chance creators.
Second half Charlton pressed and just waited for us to give ball away which we did too often. We were still close on a few occasions but it is a very bad ground to view the goal so did not see the lower part of goal.
Charlton had a flourish at end ( as we did at Southampton ) and maybe were a bit fortunate to hold out but we worked so hard to achieve it.

I still think if we had one of our big strikers fit, they would be holding up longer balls so we do not have to play out from back all the time
and also take more of the chances created.
It will be great if Mo comes back soon just so we can see that it would be like at end of this season and learn for next season.

All in all a good day out, Good pubs and beer and a great result.
