Personally, I go 4-4-2 with wingers playing on the wing. Cisse seems to play well with Shola.
What I expect is a left winger playing on the right wing and a central midfielder playing on the left or vice versa. Maybe even a target man playing on the wing. However, it would be novel to see an attacking midfielder going forward alongside a box to box midfielder in the middle.
Under Hughton, Carroll arrived late in the box to good effect, it could be good to see Ameobi doing the same as long as late is before 5.30pm.
If Pardew responds to the pressure to change, I can see him including 3 players who have helped the reserves out of their run of 1 win in 12. Obertan with a recent hat trick, Gosling with 2 goals in 2 and the relatively prolific Amalfitano ar destined to start in defence.
