I would assume that as pension payments are an internal payroll matter I will have to speak to them about it.

I am ringing HMRC tomorrow (covid ravaged throat permitting) to try and discuss the unfair interest so will chuck that one in too. Thanks

I would also check tax relief on travel to and from a temporary place of work, if you do any travel for work.

For example, if your company reimburses you 20p per mile, you can claim the tax relief on the difference to the HMRC approved mileage rates. It can result in a significant refund especially if you are a higher rate tax payer, 40%.

For instance, I travelled circa 5000miles for work one year and my employer reimbursed me 20p per mile. The approved HMRC mileage rates were 45p per mile.

I claimed the tax relief on the difference on my SATR.

(0.45 - 0.20) x 5000 x 40% = £500.
