Utrecht city council has installed two special sets of traffic lights for pedestrians featuring gay couples. The traffic lights show two women and two men holding hands and were put up to show the city’s acceptance of different forms of sexuality.

Utrecht was also the first city in the Netherlands to have a rainbow zebra crossing

I think it is perfectly normal.

The use of zebras on the other hand, I find alarming.
 
Green people are extremely aggressive so don't make them angry you wouldn't like them when they're angry!

I love equality but it doesn't exist if you are a middle aged, straight, white guy!

 
Its you that doesn't seem to understand equality. Having special traffic lights for the Gay community is NOT equality. Having rainbow zebra crossings(for the Gay community) is NOT equality.

This is the point of the thread. Its taking the minority to the extremes, that it goes beyond being the norm.

If you want equal, be equal. No special offers for certain group etc.
 
Having 99.999999999999% of everything heterosexual, when the gay community represents far more than that is inequality.

Christianity is now in the minority in the UK, so why don't we take the Christian message from Easter and Christmas, and just have them as holidays? Lets go with the majority on everything, just to keep it fair.
 
I'm NOT going with the majority.

I don't care if the traffic lights depict a man/woman/child walking a dog on a lead. Its the fact it(they) favours a certain group that bothers me. It's making a certain group "special"= which is NOT equality!
 
They're not being made special, they are being integrated. By depicting heterosexual behaviour as the absolute norm for so long, we've made that special. That's NOT equality.

I doubt any child will even comment on these signals. They are far more enlightened than you.
 
By the way, a figure of a human - neither depicts heterosexual or homosexual.

But the fact is they are targeting a certain sexuality in the design of such traffic lights!
