Bit early for too much speculation though seems linked to I.S. I have friends and family out there in Sydney.

Debating whether to ring or not at the moment. One friend out there cos her Mom passed away. She lives here. Another friend lives there and I also have family there which is going to do my nephew no good at all.

He's been running since 9/11 to flee the memories and if this is related to the extremists well............ :21:

Didn't expect Aus to be a target but I guess anyone is really fair game for these twisted fucks. You're either with them and their fairy tales or against them it seems.

Kefkat the CEO of the Lindt cafe reckons there could be 50 people inside, for a place the size of Sidney it's a long shot that any of yours are involved, hope you get confirmation of that soon though.

1 lone gunman can shut down a city, that sends a positive message to the cultists, but what else are you meant to do?

Having people who are dumb enough to believe they'll get 72 virgins (they can't be very bright can they) and hero martyr status for dying taking on the 'infidels', for the religion of peace is ridiculous, if it was a movie plot you'd think it stank, but it's real, fucking bizarre.

I did see something heart warming though- http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/blogs-trending-30479306

Thanks Freeman. It's a long shot, yet my nephew was caught up in 9/11 (my nephews and nieces are my age as my brothers are alot older than me)

I am waiting on my brother phoning me back. Mr K family were also caught up in 7/7 so we are pretty ''lucky'' alot Ha. Going to happen it will happen to us plus we unknowingly were caught up in a terrorist alert on September 23rd 2005 and didn't find out until we got to Zante.

A guy was arrested half an hour after our plane took off, as he had got out onto the tarmac where we took off, after when we took all the youngsters abroad,. We got diverted by Corfu, surrounded by Greek armed police, you name it. LOL

We have alot of luck in this family. So you can see why I am a tad worried. I have emailed my 2 friends also.

I doubt too any of them are caught up, however with our luck hmm! More concerned for my Nephew mental health atm.

Thank you though Freeman for your kind words

Don't be daft it's a CIA/Zionist/Imperialist plot innit.

Over now although sounds like casualities.

Wow, what are the odds?

Not being hurt is one thing, but as you say the mental state and feeling of it being so close to home more than once must be pretty heavy. Hope they aren't too affected by these cowards, it would be a real shame to give them that power, they aren't worth it.

Wheres juan? Has he seen a conspiracy on youtube yet? Which he will passionately believe....

Makes me sick..things like this being blamed on the usa, uk, anyone other than those directly responsible.

Like 9/11... usa behind it..... wtf.... seriously pathetic beyond belief. Brain washed to the max...

Oh wait..... its the bbc brainwashing us. Oh of course how could i be so stupid.

Two of my friends are O.K though our 1 friend pretty shaken, as he is only 20 minutes from there and goes in regularly. Thank freak he didn't decide to pop in yesterday.

Bro not phoned yet, so possibly away. I think I can breathe as I am sure I would have heard something by now if anything drastically wrong. Just hope this isn't going to knock my nephew back too much.

How the hell do you live with it?. He does somehow

I was travelling back from LA once with a bunch of work colleagues and partners. Somebody left a note in one of the loos on the plane that there was a bomb on board.

We landed somewhere - Brunswick or some such place - and were surrounded by armed FBI agents. Got taken off the plane one by one and separated from the rest of the party. We were then interrogated for a few hours before carrying on with the journey. That was fun. Not.

The wife of one of my colleagues used to be an air hostess and she immediately knew when the air crew went into its emergency procedure. She then told the rest of us instead of keeping it quiet. Knowing something was happening on a plane but not what it was - even less fun.

Oh and Australia - looks like a lone nutter. I think we may see many more of those kind of incidents - they have a habit of catching-on with others. Feel for the families but it looks like the shop owner tried to tackle the guy when he thought he was falling asleep.

Our Australian friend was telling me last night, he is fully aware that the rest of the world look on and think there is no problems in Australia with asylum seekers and the like.

There is. He said alot of the problem is those who have been born there, from 1st generation parents, who have gone there, who are getting radicalised. Like the good and bad side, as there is too everything, the internet opens those opportunities for extremists to radicalise young people.

He said they knew that something was going to happen there sooner or later

The siege of Martin Place

Sydney’s business district is locked down as café customers are taken as hostages

.........................................

Update: Security forces have stormed the cafe, ending a siege that lasted for over 16 hours. Police identified the hostage-taker as Man Haron Monis, an Iranian who sought political asylum in Australia in 1996.

On the morning of December 15th the centre of Sydney, Australia’s biggest city, buzzed with office workers and Christmas shoppers. At around 9am the doors of the Lindt Chocolate Café in Martin Place, in the heart of the business district, were barricaded from the inside. Television pictures showed at least three hostages inside the café with their hands pressed against the windows. A black flag bearing an Islamic creed, written in white, was held up to the glass.

Police and security officers evacuated the .area around Martin Place and ordered trains at the nearby underground railway station not to stop. The police confirmed to journalists that an “armed offender” was inside the café, but did not say how many hostages were held. A Lindt executive put the number at about ten staff and 30 customers, though five people fled from the building in the late afternoon. About seven hours into the siege the police said it had made contact with the hostage-taker.
