I didn't know too much about Lee Power, but he makes interesting, slippery, reading. There is a certain amount of 'no smoke without fire' and reputation built on hyperbole. On the basis of what is available from 'Open Source' internet searches, I wouldn't let him marry my daughter. In fact I wouldn't even let him take my dog for a walk.

I suspect they would be able to make the correct decision themselves.

He played for Boston Utd under Steve Evans. That probably tells you enough.

He’s a crook and that’s a real shame because Swindon are probably quite similar to us 4 years ago where if they were properly run, the crowds would really get behind them and they could sustain a couple of divisions higher football.

According to Wikipedia, Power was in charge 4 years' ago,

Power joined the board of directors at Swindon Town and took an ownership stake in the club in April 2013.[6] He invested £1.2 million in the club, which enabled a transfer embargo to be lifted.[7] Power took full control of Swindon Town in December 2013

Latest news. Owner blocked from placing Club in admin for the time being amongst other sale issues (seems to be giving one party all the info, presumably his preferred bidder, but not the other side).

Is exclusivity only allowed when a club is in admin? Very often when a club is up for sale one party can buy exclusivity for a short period where they gain access to all the books and can make a decision.

Good point, maybe so. That'd explain why he wasn't looking to put them in admin and only deal with his preferred buyer.

I'm pretty sure it is normal practice for a buyer to "purchase" a period of exclusivity. I guess in theory that could be nominal (50p) and taken up before anything was even announced.

Can't vouch for the accuracy of this, but:

"To cut a very long story short he tried to sell the club without telling other shareholders to a mythical company called Able (which we think was just a front for himself). He agreed to sell the club for just £250,000. When the other shareholders found out they got an injunction to prevent it. They offered to purchase the club for £7,5m but Power only wanted to sell to Able.

Now, here’s the funny bit. Because of what’s call pre emption rights Power had to offer the club to existing shareholders first and because he was willing to sell to Able for £250,000 that’s all the other shareholders have to pay! All this was confirmed by the judge yesterday. He’s squirming like fuck now and by being a crooked, fat twat done himself out of £7.25m."

If accurate, that would be so funny.
