Swansea v Wycombe Wanderers, Carabao Cup Second Round, Wednesday 28 August 19:45

Wycombe Wanderers, nickname “The Chairboys”, are based in the town of High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, 35 miles from London.

They play their football in League One at the 10k capacity Adams Park Stadium.

In the First Round of the EFL Cup they beat Northampton away 0-2.

They presently sit in 16th position in the table. Three games in, they lost the first two before beating Rotherham 2-0 last Saturday for their first win of the season.

Sam Vokes, their striker is well known to us, 64 Welsh Caps, formerly of Stoke, Burnley, Wolves and Bournemouth. He’s scored 2 of their 6 goals so far.

For the Swans they’ll be looking to give their two new signings some game time whilst fielding a strong team.

They’ll be hoping to get the win to get back on track, dropping points after dominating the derby game last Saturday, then allowing Cardiff back into the match for the draw.

Swansea 0 - Wycombe 1 (Kone 40’)

This head-coach is on dodgy ground, he is absolutely clueless. He made 8 changes and played a back four that must have met for the first time on the bus going to the match, a disorganised mess. Not a shot on target throughout the 90 minutes, no midfield, no attack, the sideways and back passing game. It was embarrassing to watch. A team in the lower half of League One, little Wycombe, showed us up big time. I fear for us this season playing like that.

Even when the cavalry came on they couldn’t break them down. The two new signings were poor, Abdulai was poor, Vipotnik was poor, I can go through the whole team and subs, everyone was so bad. Meanwhile he stands there in the dug out with his hands in his pocket no idea how to turn the game around. Did Vipotnik actually win a header, I think not. Could the wingers cross the ball accurately, no.

What are they doing in training, it was a disorganised mess.

The players were booed off at the end by the meagre crowd, but the recruitment team and the coaches must take some of the blame for that rubbish display.

Previous League Cup winners and we bow out without a whimper, shame.

Wycombe also made eight changes. Their Wales U-21 centre-back 6’5” Joe Low gobbled up every ball in the air, our crosses into the box having no effect at all.

For anybody interested in how Wycombe do in the Third Round of the EFL Cup after our pathetic display against them recently, the match is live on Sky apparently -
