Hello Wrexham, welcome back. North v South coming up. Last time we met in the Football League was in League Two in 1993 at the Vetch. The here and now is 2025, thirty two years later and meeting up again in the Championship.
In that time the Swans were hitting the highs of the Premier League and European football whilst Wrexham were suffering the lows of non-league football.

Yet here we are today on even ground in the Championship after Wrexham’s dramatic rise through the divisions. Both teams striving to reach the top tier. Wrexham making a better go of it so far this season after splashing big bucks on some quality players last summer.

Swans, hopes high after two home wins against lowly opposition, were back to their losing ways against Stoke last Saturday. Two soft goals conceded, a late fight back, but not enough to stop Stoke winning after three consecutive defeats.

Wrexham have 5 points more than us and are 5 places higher in the table.

The game should be a sell-out as there is a lot of interest in Wrexham and their famous movie star owners.

Moving the match to Friday night from Saturday afternoon is a pain, but the extra income from Sky will be welcome.

May the best team win and let’s hope that we see competent and impartial refereeing for a change.

Wrexham spent £38m on 13 players last summer:

Nathan Broadhead, Ben Sheaf, Callum Doyle, Lewis O’Brien, Dominic Hyam, Liberato Cacace, Conor Coady, Kieffer Moore, George Thomason, Ryan Hardie, Danny Ward, Josh Windass, Issa Kabore.

Four of those players were on the bench last match, Broadhead, Sheaf, Thomason, Hardie. Three of them came on as subs.

Another, Cacace, was injured and didn’t play.
 
We play West Brom twice at home in January, once in the League, once in the Cup.

Great atmosphere tonight in front of a full house.

Two mistakes, one for each side, centre-back Burgess o.g and goalkeeper Okonkwo slip. In between a deflected Vipotnik shot for the equaliser.

Stats tell the story with Swans 22 shots, 5 on target to Wrexham 5 shots, 1 on target.

Our third successive home victory despite some poor and one sided refereeing again.

I found the substitutions odd, but you can’t argue with the result.

Me too, I thought he'd have made them sooner in the 2nd half and moved things around so galbraith could go into midfield. Lots of luck and fortune for all the goals but we were worthy of the win, apart from the first 15 mins Wrexham were awful
