It’s the second match of three this week (we’re away to fourth placed Burnley next Sunday) to accommodate yet another two week International break.

It’s fifth placed Watford who are the visitors and as usual with Swansea we always play a team at the wrong time.

After their 2-6 away win on Saturday, including 4 goals from loan player Bayo (there’s a name that brings back memories), they will be full of confidence coming into this match.

Bayo is one of 3 players on loan from Italian Serie A club Udinese Calcio this season. With more than 60 transfers between the clubs since 2012 they have been accused of working the system (both clubs are owned by the Pozzo family, plus Spanish Segunda Division club Granada CF). Watford are a multi-cultural club and are like the League of Nations with players from over 20 countries.

Before that big win against Sheffield Wednesday they were no great shakes away from home with 1 win and 5 straight defeats.

They’ve scored 22 goals but conceded 21 in their 13 matches so far this season, no trouble scoring or conceding then, so perhaps we’ll see some goals on Tuesday night.

Full of aggression, determination and purpose! This was the new look Swans team again last night. Same players but transformed last two matches. Watford didn’t know what hit them as we dominated every phase of play, especially first half.

More of the same second-half, Watford came back into it about the hour mark but were unable to break us down. They used their five subs, even the four goal hero of their 2-6 win at Sheff Wed last Saturday, Vakoun Bayo, was subbed off, but to no avail.

We had two goals ruled out for offside, hit the bar, a couple of penalty shouts, and unlucky not to add to our lead. Watford rallied with a succession of corners but could not break down our resolute defence and we got the win our play deserved. I don’t think they had a shot on target throughout.

Up to 10th in the table and 2 points off a play-off place on the night after outplaying a Watford team that were 5th in the table. Swans will go into Sunday’s match at high-flying Burnley full of confidence.
