Swansea v QPR, Wed 22 Oct, 19:45
Coming up for the Swans on Wednesday are QPR, the first of three home matches in a week, then it’ s Norwich next Saturday and the EFL Cup game against Man City the following Wednesday.
QPR fell to their first defeat in seven games on Saturday, a 1-2 home defeat against a Millwall team with whom we recently played out a 1-1 home draw.
The hoops do not have any ex-Swans players in their squad but they do have a player we were strongly linked with in the summer, striker Richard Kone, who has scored 4 goals in 8 appearances so far. Swans bought Adam Idah instead who has 1 goal (a penalty) in 5 appearances.
Last season’s home game against the Hoops was a 3-0 win on Boxing Day.
QPR were on a run of one defeat in eight games, but they came unstuck against a Swans team that were looking to bounce back from their previous game at bottom of the table Hull where they had gifted them a first win in 14 games in one of our most inept displays in a long time
With one win in the last six matches Swans need to pull their finger out and start playing to their potential. The Southampton performance was not acceptable. Even though on paper the draw and the point were welcome, the reality was that we were totally outplayed and on another day could have conceded four or five goals.
Let’s see what the next three games bring us.
