Norwich is now billed for some as a must win, even this early in the season.

Our home form is dreadful with one win in six matches and after two consecutive home defeats alarm bells are ringing.

We have slumped to 16th in the table and the goals have dried up.

Norwich are faring even worse and are in the bottom three. Their six away games were WWDDLL, their last game at Derby a 1-0 defeat and the last time they won was eight games ago against fellow strugglers Blackburn.

The return of the runaway Darling heralds another ex-player who will be determined to score against us, which usually happens.

After Norwich we have tougher games at Charlton and Preston and home to Ipswich, hence the must win tag for this one.

The points are welcome but what I feared has happened, we won but with the same kind of performance and only because Vipi is so good at striking a ball. Some tough ones coming up next. I personally can’t see us doing anything this season with the way we’re playing, it’s quite depressing because there was a lot of excitement in the summer.

We won and it was relief all round, thanks to two great strikes from Vipotnik.

After we scored we eased off and allowed Norwich to get back into the game and we looked wide open in midfield.

Just before he scored his second goal, Sheehan was going to sub Vipotnik and Idah was ready and waiting to come on. Vipotnik scored and Idah had to sit back down but it wasn’t long before Sheehan determinedly pulled Vipotnik, who must have been annoyed because he was on to a hat trick. Idah came on and did nothing.

It was another disjointed performance against a poor Norwich side.

Darling had a quiet game and was booed every time he touched the ball.

Pressure off for now then, but some tough games coming up.

Not wanting to be a party pooper but looking at the table tonight our four wins this season have been against the present bottom four.

Statistics can be misleading.

Swans were the home side but had the least possession, the least expected goals, the least touches in the opposition box, the least number of corners and the more goalkeeper saves.

Yet they had the same number of shots on target (3) as Norwich and won the game.

I thought we were ok for the first 20 but after that we struggled a bit. After Ronald's strike that hit the post we did nothing until the winner. It's worrying how poor we are at creating chances, relying on absolute class from Vipotnik.
