Swansea v Middlesbrough, Sat 8 March, 15:00

Middlesbrough are only two points off the play offs.
Surprising really as they have just come out of a dreadful run of 5 consecutive defeats with back to back wins, a 1-3 away win at lowly Stoke and a 1-0 home win against bottom club Derby.

Let’s look at the recent form guide:

Boro last 6 games LLLLWW 6 points

Swans last 6 games LWLLWD 7 points

Boro last 6 away games WLLLLW 6 points

Swans last 6 home games WDLLLW 7 points

Boro lost at Preston 2-1 on 25 January

Another ex-Swan makes a return on Saturday, Morgan Whittaker. He has the distinction of being the only player to score a hat-trick for Swansea since Scott Sinclair in 2011.

Sold to Plymouth for a bargain £1m he scored 20 goals for them in 23-24 season. He moved on in the January transfer window to Middlesbrough for £5m plus add-ons.

Swansea 1 (Eom 26’) - Middlesbrough 0

Another win against a top- half side in contention for the play-offs and its Happy Days so far for the new look Swans under caretaker boss Sheehan. Three games, two wins and a draw, no goals conceded. What a change from more or less the same players that Williams had. More attacking intent, high press, no messing about at the back, exciting to watch, 13 shots, 4 on target, and less pointless possession in our own half.
The only concern was that Darling went of injured on 63’, Delcroix taking his place.

Just read that Myles Peart-Harris is returning to Brentford for further assessment after a scan on a back injury. It doesn’t sound good and could be his last game for Swansea.
