Next up we meet our second closest neighbours Bristol City at the Swansea.com stadium.

They are two points behind us in 13th place, securing their second win of the season with a late penalty on Saturday against league newcomers Oxford for their first win in four matches.

Robins head-coach is Liam Manning, appointed last November after Nigel Pearson was sacked. Manning left Oxford, who were second in the table in League One at the time, to join Bristol City. Of his 42 matches in charge so far, he has a win percentage of 33%, compared to our own Luke Williams who has a win percentage of 42% from 30 games.

They did the double over us last season, beating us 1-2 at home last September and 1-0 at Ashton Gate last March.

They spent £10.3m on three players this summer, Scott Twine from Burnley, Sinclair Armstrong from QPR, Fally Mayulu from Rapid Vienna, and £5m of players out, namely Tommy Conway to Middlesbrough.

Swans are perched at the heady heights of 7th place, just below Leeds, after two consecutive wins against quality opposition in Norwich and Coventry.

With a fairly solid defence, only 4 goals conceded in 6 games, of more concern is up front where Vipotnik was left on the bench yesterday, let’s hope he comes good.

The pattern is there every game. Once again we play a game of two halves. Get off to a good start, score a goal, then miss chances to put the game to bed. Second half the opposition manager susses us out. We fade badly and end up hanging on.

Our bench is poor, the substitutions weakened us in midfield and up front and we came close to losing a game we should have won.

We played the last 20 mins without a recognised striker. Grimes wasn’t functioning today, passing the ball to the opposition at one time and at the end took two consecutive corners where both times he couldn’t even lift the ball over the first defender at the near post, two corners wasted.

Ronald was poor and blocked out of the game, I don’t think he beat his marker once, why wasn’t he subbed. Eom conversely was in top form. Vigouroux and Cooper both man of the match.

It felt like a defeat at the end and almost was.
