Swans v Stoke

This Tuesday night 9/4, sees us play our third consecutive home match in a week against a resurgent Stoke. They’ve been in the doldrums for most of the season after relegation, despite keeping all their PL stars except Shaqiri, who moved to Liverpool for 13.5 mill.
Recently they’ve hit a bit of form and not lost or conceded a goal in the last six matches.

Form Guide last 6 league matches:
Swans: W3 D0 L3 F9 A7 Pts9 (WLLLWW)
Stoke: W2 D4 L0 F3 A0 Pts 10 (WDDDDW)

Last time out:
Swansea 3 - Middlesboro 1
Blackburn 0 - Stoke 1

Didn't realise their form had improved that much, they don't score many but could prove tough to break down judging from their away record, 3 goals conceded in 6 away games is very decent.

Rhondda born Nathan Jones took over from Gary Rowett on 9th Jan as Stoke manager, and is continuing the success he had at Luton.

4 goalless draws in a row ended with a 1-0 win, they've started to defend now. If we can start strongly though again I'm confident of another win.

They also missed a penalty in their 0-1 win at Blackburn.
Three of their players went off injured in that game too, Ince, Shawcross, and Bojan.
Clucas replaced Ince, Ash Williams replaced Shawcross, and Vokes replaced Bojan.
Ex-Swans Allen, Williams and Clucas back at the Liberty tonight then.
A very strong side, plus they have added Benik Afobe from Wolves for 12mill and Ryan Woods was on the bench, 6mill from Brentford (yes the one who was all but coming to us).

Unfortunate to see Celina miss out, McBurnie comes in. Allen, Ash and Clucas all start with Woods on the bench.

Another great display from our team, three wins and 9 points in a week, scoring 9 goals, 3 in each match.
Celina out injured and McBurnie started. James unstoppable again and he scored on 23’ beating his marker Afobe before unleashing a terrific shot from the left side to the top right of goal, the watching Wales manager Giggs must have been so impressed.
Routledge’s shot on 43’ was turned in by VdH as we continued to control the match.
McClean pulled one back for Stoke with a ground shot in first half injury time in what was to be their only shot on target throughout the match such was our dominance.
Second half and James continued to torment Stoke. Unable to stop him they resorted to fouling, and Indi and Edwards both got sent off as a result.
Sub McKay claimed the assist with a neat chip for McBurnie to head home our third goal and seal the win in the 86th minute.
Stoke hadn’t conceded a goal in 6 matches and you could see why with a defence that was solid and robust, but they had no answer to our fast attacking football.
