Swans v Stoke

Four ex-Swans return on Tuesday night for Stoke, Allen, Clucas, Surridge and Wilmot, the latter two we had on loan.
Stoke are unbeaten so far after a draw and a win in their opening two games.
This summer they’ve had a big clear out with 17 players departing (5 of those on loan) and 5 incoming including Sam Surridge £2.7m from Bournemouth and Ben Wilmot £1.6m from Watford.
Hopefully the Swans can improve on last Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Sheffield United where we had just one shot on target.
Jay Fulton is back in contention after serving a three match ban.
New loanee signing, right back Ethan Laird should also be available for selection.

Swans 1 - Stoke 3
Possession 64% - 36%
Shots: 9 - 12
On target: 3 - 5
Corners: 5 - 5
Fouls: 6 - 14
Cards: 0Y - 2Y

RM: “There wasn’t much between the two teams, anyone who tells you different, I would disagree with. It was a really competitive game”.
Unbelievable comment after the match from our new leader!
We were totally annihilated, outplayed and outfought by a rampant Stoke side in one of the worst displays by a Swansea team in many a year. We were clueless as to how to beat their high press and continuously either lost possession or passed back to the goalkeeper.
Stoke bullied us off the ball and at times it seemed as if they had more players on the field than us, such was their dominance.
How they only scored three goals I don’t know. It was men against boys as we failed miserably to get to grips with this so called possession football.
