Bad news about Olsson, he’s out for the season with a ruptured Achilles, a serious injury.
Will Potter go with how we finished at Brentford, Roberts left back and Naughton right back, or will he bring in the unimpressive so far Declan John at left back?

Olssons injury could not have come at a worse time. He’s 30 years old and is out of contract next summer. Do the club stick by him and offer a new contract, hoping he will fully recover from a bad injury?
After the recent spate of players signing new contracts and Potter stating that there were also other players discussing new contracts recently, was Martin in the middle of contract talks, and will these talks now be shelved?

Some heartening news for Olsson, who has already undergone surgery to repair his ruptured Achilles. Two of his teammates have been through the same injury and recovered to continue their careers, so will be able to help him through this.
Nathan Dyer had a ruptured Achilles and was out for eight months in 2017.
Leroy Fer ruptured his Achilles last February and was back in training in August, although he has only recently got up to full match fitness after a few niggling minor injuries.
Theres no doubt that the superb state of the art facilities at Fairwood Training Ground will assist greatly in his recovery and rehabilitation, as they did for Fer and Dyer.

Owls Dutch manager Jos Luhakay is under pressure, with some fans calling for him to be sacked, after only one win in nine games, and the worst defence in the Championship with 38 goals conceded so far.
Almost 25,000 watched them draw 2-2 at home to local rivals Rotherham last time out, with two goals from their Portuguese striker Lucas Joao, who now has eight goals this campaign.

Our Academy Under 23’s are struggling this season, losing this week 3-1 to Blackburn and changing places with them at the bottom of the table in PL2, then a few days later losing 1-4 to Hertha Berlin, who already couldn’t qualify for the next round, in the PL International Cup.
With so many Under 23’s from last season stepping up to the first team this season to cover the fire sale of most of our relegated squad, no wonder they are in trouble.

GP stuck with the same side that played at Brentford, Roberts coming in for the injured Olsson. Bony was missing from the subs bench, also injured.
On an afternoon of extreme weather with high winds, driving rain and only 6c, it was going to be an endurance test for the fans as well as the players.
We had plenty of possession as Wednesday sat deep and relied on counter attacks.
Half time 0-0.
It was going to be a mistake that turned the game and Rodon duly obliged. He was dispossessed by Matias just outside the box and fired home to give the Owls the lead on 63’.
Montero replaced Dyer on 63’ and Celina replaced Naughton on 65’.
Celina turned the game and scored on 71’ and two minutes later chipped the ball over the Owls defence for Routledge to run on to and score the winner, with his second goal in a week.
Relief all round, but not without some injury time scares with Wednesday having three successive corners.
Full time 2-1.

Man of the match Routledge, surely we can’t let him go in January if he continues with this sort of form.
Closely followed by Celina, who made an immediate impact when he came on, and scored the first and made the second goal for Routledge.
VdH went off at half time with a sickness bug, replaced by Carter-Vickers.
Two wins in a week and happy days after the three previous defeats.
Up to 9th in the table and four points away from the play offs.

Sheff Wed had two Welsh Under 21 Internationals playing against us yesterday.
No 6, defender Morgan Fox, although born in Chelmsford, England, qualified for Wales through his parents/grandparents.
No 24, defender Ash Baker was born in Bridgend and was previously a youth player with Cardiff City.
