Swans v QPR

Back home again this Saturday then, after two tough away matches.
QPR will be no pushovers, having won 3 and drawn 1 of their last 6 league matches, whereas we have won 1 and drawn 3 of our last 6 matches. They had a little hiccup last Sat losing by the odd goal at home to Norwich and will be looking to bounce back against us.
I hope Rangel is not fit after being out injured recently as he’s playing really well for them. What a shabby way we treated him after 11 years service. He offered to stay on reduced wages but our club never got back to him. I’m sure he’ll get a great reception if he plays.
Fer and Celina are back in training this week after injury, but will it be too soon for them to play a part, also considering we have Wigan away a few days later.

Another injury, Asoro stretchered off in the under 23’s game against Villarreal B last night, hope it’s not serious. I only saw the second half but Villarreal looked a different class to us, with their slick passing game.

QPR lost 2-0 in the cup at League One Blackpool on Tuesday night, with some fans already calling for Steve McClaren’s head after a poor display, albeit with a load of youngsters.
Still it does nothing for moral. He’s only been there since 18th May this year and has a 50% win percentage since taking over from Ian Holloway.

Ref tomorrow v QPR is Kevin Friend from the PL, who takes a step down for this match.
He’s a controversial referee and no friend of ours.
He refereed Swansea three times last season and we lost all three without scoring a goal, 5-0 at Liverpool, 0-3 at home to Spurs in the FA Cup, and 1-0 at Bournemouth.
In the league we lost 0-2 at home to Spurs. The first goal was a blatantly offside goal by Llorente after 12 mins that the whole of the stadium saw but the linesman Marc Parry missed. He had the good grace to apologise to Carvalhal for his error after the match.
Well this linesman is back again tomorrow, along with ref Friend, should be fun then.

Score: Swans 3 Baker-Richardson 16’, Roberts 76’, Fulton 83’ - QPR 0

Team: Mulder, Naughton, Van der Hoorn, Rodon, Roberts, Byers (Olsson 84'),
Carroll, Celina (Fulton 71’), Grimes, Baker-Richardson (Fer 71'), McBurnie
Subs: Nordfeldt, Olsson, Fer, Carter-Vickers, McKay, James, Fulton

Well the officials behaved this time around as we finally got back on track with some goals after a barren spell the last three matches.
GP shuffled things around to give us more attacking threat and it worked a treat with some great passing moves and slick one touch football, just what our fans have asked for.
QPR were no mugs and missed some chances early doors and second half, stand out player for them was number 32, Bermudian Nahki Wells, on loan from Burnley.
Celina had a quiet game, being moved out on the wing. Our defence was solid and another clean sheet, it would have been four clean sheets in a row if it wasn’t for that appalling decision at Stoke to allow them that blatantly offside goal.
B-R (in his first start since being sent off at Millwall) and Roberts scored their first league goals and the delight on Roberts face was a joy to see, real passion.
Up to seventh in the table, just outside a play-off spot on goal difference, and a happy weekend for all our fans
