Swansea v Norwich Friday 5 Feb 20:15 (live on Sky Sports Football)
It’s a cliche but this match certainly looks like a six pointer, especially after promotion rivals Brentford beat Bristol City on Wednesday night to leapfrog us in the table with their game in hand.
League leaders Norwich arrive at the Liberty after two 0-0 draws in the last week and are five points ahead of us having played one game more.
Their star player and midfield creator Argentinian Emiliano Buendia is serving a two match ban for a second dismissal of the season. Kenny McLean, Kieran Dowell, Adam Idah and Onel Hernandez are all pushing for recalls to the side after sub appearances in the 0-0 draw at Millwall on Tuesday
Swans Ryan Bennett will meet one of his old clubs this Friday.
On transfer deadline day 31 January 2012, Bennett signed for Norwich City in a hijack deal for £3.2 million. The 21 year old Bennett was expected to sign for the Swans and had begun the drive down from Peterborough to the Liberty for contract talks, only to get a phone call near Windsor and told to turn round and head for Norwich. He stayed with Norwich until 2017 before moving to Wolves on a three year contract. Swans finally got their man on 16 Oct 2020, eight years later than planned.
Kyle Naughton is available again after a one match ban. Korey Smith is back in contention after a quad injury. Latest signings Morgan Whittaker and Kieron Freeman vie for places on the subs bench but Paul Arriola has not arrived in time to be considered.

This was a significant win last night after we had previously drawn at home to the other teams around us in the table, Reading, Bournemouth and Brentford.
For all their possession Norwich only had one shot on target throughout the 95 mins.
It was a nail biting time for the Jacks after the second goal went in early second half, hoping Norwich wouldn’t score and make a match of it, and the time dragged to the final whistle, where did the ref get 5 mins injury time from?
Brentford are playing at Middlesboro today, let’s hope they can do us a favour. Boro are just outside the play-offs in 7th spot but are off the boil at the moment and have lost their last three games at home.
Our game in hand over Norwich is Blackburn away, rescheduled for Tue 9 March at 18:00.

Nobody can stop this Brentford team it seems as they steamroller over everybody. Today it was Middlesboro who capitulated to them after being gifted an own goal within 3 mins of the start, eventually losing 1-4 for their fourth consecutive home defeat. The Championship’s leading scorer Ivan Toney grabbed a brace to take his tally to 22 goals for this season. They bought him from Peterborough for £5m + £10m in add-ons last summer.
As a result Brentford take over second spot and can go top if they draw or win at Reading on Wednesday.
