Pinch punch the first of the month, white rabbits and all that.
It’s February 1st and with that disappointing January transfer window now behind us we move on to our next league game tonight, a rearranged fixture against Luton.
In the reverse fixture at Kenilworth Road last September we were wide open and down 3-0 at half time before a second half comeback with goals from Paterson, Ntcham and Piroe saw us draw the game 3-3.
RM said after the match “We will learn from the first half and make sure it doesn't happen again.”
Unfortunately we haven’t and it’s been a pattern in many of our games, last Saturday we were down 2-0 after 17 mins, but this time never recovered.
Form Guide last 6 matches:
Swans W1 D2 L3 F3 A8 Pts5
Luton W3 D2 L1 F8 A6 Pts11
Last Saturday Luton drew 0-0 at home to high flying Blackburn.
Last Saturday Swans lost 2-0 to lowly Hull.
Luton are 10th in the league table.
Swans are 18th in the league table.

Tricky game tonight against a Luton side who work hard and are well organised under Jones.

Fortunately they've got a couple of key injuries which will help and we desperately need a win to get back on track again.

Will Fisher make his debut? Great to have Downes back who was badly missed at Hull. I very much doubt Ogbeta will be involved yet so I can't see many changes from the Hull game unless Martin decides to switch things up.

Swans: Andy Fisher, Ryan Bennett, Kyle Naughton, Ben Cabango, Cyrus Christie, Flynn Downes, Matt Grimes (c), Ryan Manning, Olivier Ntcham, Hannes Wolf, Michael Obafemi.

Subs: Ben Hamer, Jay Fulton, Korey Smith, Kyle Joseph, Joel Piroe, Joel Latibeaudiere, Finley Burns.

Another defeat and we slide further down the table to 19th spot.
Luton worked harder and gave us no room, they were the better team, solid in defence and always looked dangerous from breakaways and set pieces.
We wasted several chances including Cabango hitting the post from close range.
Fisher played, not any better than what we’ve got really, almost gave a goal away in the first few minutes but settled down after that.

We had 72% possession, mustered 4 shots on target, and failed to score again.
Luton had 28% possession, 2 shots on target and scored from one of them.
A lot of unrest from the fans tonight and a lot of boos at the end of the match, is Martin losing the fans support?

What did you think of Starling’s debut in goal, any good or have we bought another Dracula, afraid of crosses?
He was rooted to his line on many occasions and doesn’t seem to be an improvement on what we’ve already got, could the money spent on him have been better utilised elsewhere in the team?

West Brom have sacked head-coach Valerian Ismael after 7 months in charge. They have won 3 games in their last 13 matches and are 6th in the table.
Swansea head-coach Russell Martin has been 7 months in charge. They have won 4 games in their last 13 matches and are 19th in the table.
