Swans v Luton

A quick turn around for the next match, but an ideal chance to get a rapid response from the players for that poor showing on Wednesday night.
We have problems scoring goals and we lack creativity in midfield.
Hopefully we can address both next month though, the first one in the transfer window and the second with the return of Gibbs-White from injury.
Despite the dismal display at the Riverside we had chances to get the draw but fluffed them. Conceding two goals with uncharacteristically weak defending was hard to watch and will only be rectified by a much better display on Saturday.
No match in the Championship is easy and our next opponents Luton come to the Liberty off the back of beating league leaders Norwich 3-1 last match, celebrating in style the return of 1,000 of their fans.
Their manager Nathan Jones said: “The fans were a massive help. We were miles off where we needed to be at Cardiff on Saturday but what a great way to bounce back. The workrate was phenomenal. Saturday was the worst performance I've had as Luton manager, but this was probably the best. I'm so happy with that performance."

The FA have charged Steve Cooper with improper conduct after he spoke out about Andy Woolmer’s biased refereeing during the Sheff Wed draw recently. Woolmer disallowed a last minute Swans goal and ignored penalty appeals, instead blowing up for a foul on their goalkeeper with not a Swans player anywhere near.
We’ve had a lot of biased and inept refereeing throughout our tenure in the PL and now in the Championship. It seems the refs are beyond any criticism and blatantly biased decisions go uncensored by the governing body who can’t see further than their nose and don’t want to.
Well done for Steve Cooper for speaking out. He did speak to the FA before the match about the selection of this ref due to previous problems with him reffing us but was ignored, which says a lot.
The introduction of VAR was supposed to stop these controversial decisions but has only made it worse by over interpreting of the rules. I would still prefer this to watching crap refereeing every week.
Today we’ve got a new ref, in charge of us for the first time, Leigh Doughty, and it’s only his fifth match reffing in the Championship this season. In those five matches he’s given 1 penalty 10 yellow cards and zero red cards.

Steve Cooper:
“We're very pleased with the result and large parts of the performance. It wasn't easy but I don't think any game is going to be easy in this schedule.
The reality is we were in Nottingham on Sunday, Middlesbrough on Wednesday and then the best part of 48 hours later, you're playing again. It's tough. It is what it is to get the league up and running, but there's going to be no straightforward games for anybody.
To show the character, resilience and to keep a clean sheet, after that week and with a little bit of a setback against Middlesbrough in how we played, it's really good sign of the mentality in the dressing room.
In the end we showed enough quality in the game and enough resilience to get the right result."

Nathan Jones:
"We had the worst possible start with an element of misfortune with the goal because of the deflection, but the reaction was wonderful.
We had intensity, we had more possession and we had the better chances than Swansea.
It took a deflected goal and a sending off to beat us. I'm not going to argue with the sending off, but we were the better side today.
We had one cleared off the line, we missed a chance from four yards and we had one missed at the back stick. Overall, I'm proud of that performance but the Championship can be very cruel and that's what's happened."
