Vital Football Legend
Tomorrow (Sat) we should be playing Brentford at home in a league match. The fixture has now been moved to Tue 2 April 19:45.
Instead we’re playing Brentford in the FA Cup, but the match has been moved to Sunday 16:00 for TV.

Swans v Brentford, Championship Form Guide Table last 6 matches -
3rd Brentford W4 D1 L1 F15 A8 Pts13
15th Swansea W2 D2 L2 F7 A8 Pts8

Brentford’s only defeat was at Forest 2-1 on 5th Feb
Swans two defeats were at Bristol City 2-0 on 2nd Feb and at Leeds 2-1 on 13th Feb

Tougher game this than some might think. Brentford going well and back up to speed after they lost Dean Smith. Hopefully we can progress but feel that Potter will suffer with a lack of first team players

Couldn’t agree more enh.
I think the outcome of the Leeds match may have been different if we’d still had the game changer Montero and midfield general Fer to call on.
I feel the owners have blown any chance of the play-offs this season by their short-sightedness in selling anything with a pulse just to balance the books.
A Brentford victory is still within our grasp though, as anything can happen in a cup tie. But they’ve left our manager with one hand tied behind his back as he tries to put a competitive side together with what little options are left.
Any more injuries and we’ll be struggling, especially through the spine of the team, central defence, central midfield and centre forward positions.
We were much better at Leeds when McBurnie came on and Grimes reverted back to his normal position in midfield.
On a positive note, great 0-2 win for the U23’s away to Chelsea last night as they try to get off the bottom of the table. A big chunk of last year’s players who did so well for them are now first teamers.

So then, presently there are six out injured, two long term -
Olsson (achilles), Rodon (metatarsal), Fer - captain (hamstring), John (ankle), Dyer (hamstring), Routledge (calf)
Plus leading scorer McBurnie still doubtful he can play a full match due to sickness bug.

Brentford have only won one away match in the Championship this season.
Swans have lost five home matches in the Championship this season.
Last match Brentford beat A Villa at home 1-0, a 90th min goal by Maupay.
Last match Swans lost at Leeds 2-1, our goal an 87th min penalty by McBurnie.

Brentford beat Barnet 3-1 at home in a fourth round replay after drawing 3-3 away. Non league Barnet, 17th in the National League, had knocked out Championship club Sheffield United in the third round and had been 2-1 ahead at one stage v Brentford in the original fourth round tie.

Swans beat Gillingham 4-1 at home in their fourth round match.

The old cliche “it was a game of two halves” certainly applied to this game.
I thought Brentford were outstanding first half and could have scored more than just the one goal, and it was so one sided and we were so poor that there was some booing from our fans as the Swans players trudged off at half time.
Whatever Potter said to them in the break he needs to bottle it and save it for future use, as they turned the match on its head and it was Brentford’s turn to come under the cosh as we scored four goals and had one disallowed for off side.
So we’re in the last eight and the Quarter Finals of the FA Cup. The most favourable draw for us would be Millwall at home.

We were due to play Derby at home in the league on Sat 16 March.

Brentford had a fine record before this match with only one defeat in the last 12 matches including cup games, so all the more reason to savour this result.
Man of the Match was Daniel James who ran riot second half, and all the more annoying for Leeds, who were a whisker away from signing him in the transfer transfer window. Surely his transfer value has doubled after that display in front of a worldwide audience. Well done Huw Jenkins for blocking his transfer and over ruling our faraway madcap owners.

Being as the semi-finals of the FA Cup are played at Wembley, we are now only one win away from another appearance there. Let’s hope for a good home draw tonight.

Great performance in the end. Awful first half but we sorted ourselves out although no doubt Brentford will see it as a missed opportunity. Free-kick helped us and then of course the James wonder goal. They just couldn't cope with him.

Who's going to this one then? Personally I'm not giving the club any more of my money but I understand fans who will go. I don't like seeing some fans criticise those who do or don't, it's up to them.
