Barnsley are 23rd in the table but in better form than us, with only 1 defeat in the last 6 games, scoring 14 goals and collecting 11 points.
Swansea are 8th in the table with 3 defeats in the last 6 games, scoring 8 goals and collecting 7 points.

Going by the form guide Barnsley are in better form than us, despite being bottom but one in the table. They drew 1-1 at home to 14 games unbeaten West Brom yesterday and in the reverse fixture drew 2-2 at the Hawthorns.
This is not going to be an easy game. Without van der Hoorn we looked very vulnerable in defence yesterday, let’s hope he recovers by Sunday.

Season ticket holders are being treated to a free Xmas drink from the club before 2:30pm

Aapo Halme, Barnsley’s Finnish defender after scoring a last minute equaliser to draw the game against West Brom a few days ago:
“I think we have the feeling now that we can win games. The belief is growing more and more. It’s not just fitness, football is so much
about mentality, so just that belief that we can score is huge for us.
Millwall was an important game for us, it gave us the confidence to know we can win away games, so I think we can go down to Swansea and beat them.”

No word on the extent of experienced centre back Hoorn’s injury yet.
If he is out again, expect Barnsley to fully exploit our weak defending, after Brentford exposed how vulnerable we were at the back by putting three goals past us a few days ago

Knowing the Swans luck and the rubbish refs we’ve had this season, what’s the odds on a controversial decision going against us on Sunday. Why?
Well a rookie referee, Antony Coggins, has just been appointed for the Barnsley match. It’s his first time reffing in the Championship, he’s been refereeing in League 1 and 2 for the last two years. His last game was Blackpool v Fleetwood in L1, where he dished out 6 yellow cards, and the four games before that, 3,5,4,6 yellow cards.

Boos rang around the stadium at the end of this stalemate and left Swans fans once again frustrated with our poor home form, having won only two matches from the last ten.
Two changes in the starting line-up from Brentford as Byers and Roberts made way for Fulton and Naughton. Hoorn was still out with a knee injury, Cabango and Wilmot paired in central defence again.

Barnsley attacked throughout and were worth the draw. Both teams had goals disallowed for offside.
Possession: 51% - 49%
Shots: 11 - 12

On target: 5 - 1
Corners: 7 - 3

Fouls: 17 - 12
Cards: 1Y - 4Y
Ref: Antony Coggins 3/10 (whistle happy)

Another 2 points dropped. An awful game between 2 awful sides it has to be said. But we should be winning them if we want to nail a play-off place. The first half especially was probably the worst I've seen since those late PL games. Lack of movement and any excitement from any player. There's just nobody in the team any more that makes you get off your seat and excited. A match winner.
