Swan, swans off from Scunny!

It is easy to forget that Scunthorpe is actually a relatively small town in terms of Football League status - 82,000 population. It is much smaller than many of the towns currently in the National League, so a return to the FL is going to be very hard.

Just 4 league wins for Scunny, that must rank alongside the likes of Southport & Workington for one of the worst sides in EFL history?

Since there have been four tiers, Southport's 3 wins in the 1976/77 season seems to be the record - but they still finished six points ahead of Workington which was the year they only won 4.

Others with only 4 wins were Bradford (Park Avenue) in 1967/68 and Doncaster in 1997/98.

Apparently Swan had promised an end of season reward trip on the lash to Blackpoollast.jpg
