Sunderland Women v Manchester City Women

Rising

Alert Team
Although I am still on my jollies in Spain I managed to see the second half of tonight's game on BBC on the ipad which was heading for a draw until the 90th minute when Stanway popped up with the winner!
This result keeps our hopes alive for the title in this Spring series with one game to go, although we need Chelsea to drop points.
Well done girls. They kept pushing and pushing right to the end against a dogged Sunderland defence.

Sorry I missed it, but. Can tell you that we won with a late goal from Stanway and a cracker it was as it was cleared from a corner to the edge of the Sunderland area and Georgia hit a beauty of a half volley.

Sunderland keeper was the busier of the two keepers and was in fact the woman of the match.

This leaves City joint Top but a vastly differential in GD leaves Chelsea favourite as they reach there final game, as Chelsea have a home fixture against Birmingham whom City thrashed in the FA Cup Final.

City are away to Liverpool, unless a miracle happens and Birmingham either draw or beat Chelsea, City need to beat Liverpool to have any chance of winning the 'Spring Series'

I see that Lyon have won the Champions League :005: - City's efforts against the eventual winners of the competition are noted

City played Liverpool Ladies today with an outside chance of taking the title, by losing to Arsenal in our last game at home, we were almost written off, but Chelsea beat Birmingham to take the Spring Series, whilst City won by 1-3 away to Liverpool.

Goals by Scott, Lawley and Campbell secured the win with a consolation goal right on Full Time making the final score 1-3 City

The televised match was obviously the Chelsea one, as they were in the box seat and the good thing was we beat Chelsea in this mini series and although joint points scores the goal difference was enormous, with Chelsea banging them in for fun.

The New season for the Women's League starts in October

:001: Well done to the MCWFC - carrying on their momentum from the previous season. Time to rest up now and get ready for October
