Sunderland are missing couple of their key players and I doubt their 2 new signings will start. So, keep Defoe in the offside position and bring home 3 points! COYS!

ps.. MUST capitalise on the Pool v Chelsea outcome.
 
A lot depends upon whether the lads are up for a scrap from the first whistle. I expect Sunderland to play at a high tempo like City did and West Ham last season as we still do not know how to handle that style of opposition convincingly. Fight first, dominate later.

Still think even if we win those games that talk of the title is far fetched, but who knows?!

Good luck with the journey Dave, wish I was going with you, but you know the rest..

They will come at us hard, we do seems still to start too slowly in some of these types of games, a win there is not a forgone conclusion, but I can see us just edging it by a goal or two
 
Agree with Ex, the title looks a step too far, that's why I'd love us to win a cup this season.

I get the feeling some of the players would like something to show for it now as well , not just another top4 finish, no medals for that.
 
We need a Liverpool win tonight and an ars*nal win on the weekend. If that happens then the title race is back on, unlikely though.
 
A lot can happen. A lot of people were probably saying at this point last year that the title was nowhere near our grasp but we weren't far off. Take each game as it comes, keep improving and anything could happen.

This game tonight is one of those dangerous games being classed as a "banker". We need our players to ignore that and treat it like a game that really matters.

Don't ask that, Critical, you don't want to get drawn into the most inane, roundabout discussion which will leave you none the wiser.
 
Get well soon Hugo. Vorm is very able deputy and hopefully keep the ball in play and away from the opposition with his clearances!
