Vital Football Legend
With eight players already gone, we will see new players being recruited for next season. We are already a few weeks behind the rest of the clubs. Our first priority is to establish if Cooper is staying or not as these new players will have to fit the manager’s style of play.

Contract Expiry Dates:
Now : loanees Guehi, Woodman, Hourihane, who have returned to their parent clubs.
Now: Ayew, Routledge, Freeman, John, McKay.

2022: Roberts, Grimes, Byers, Dhanda

2023: Naughton, Smith, Bidwell, Bennett, Lowe, Manning, B Cooper, O Cooper, Latibeaudiere, Garrick, Rushesha.

2024: Cullen, Benda, Fulton.

2025: Whittaker, Cabango.

League One Wigan’s 6’1” striker, 19 year old Kyle Joseph, is reported to be in talks with the Swans. He’s out of contract this month and has been offered a new deal by Wigan. If the Swans sign him they will have to pay compensation to Wigan as he’s under 24. He is a Scotland U-19 International and scored 5 goals in 20 appearances for Wigan last season before being injured. Several other clubs are interested in signing him.

Routledge retained for another year, but 4/5 months of that he’ll be recovering from injury, doesn’t make much sense?

Swans are closing in on a move for Belgian First Division Club OH Leuven centre-forward Thomas Henry.
He is 26 years old, and born in France.
Tall in stature at 6’4” he’s scored 21 league goals in 31 matches this season.
He still has two years left on his contract so will command a sizeable transfer fee.

Swans want Liverpool youngster, 20 year old 6’0” right-back Neco Williams on loan. Born in Wrexham, and a current Welsh International, Liverpool want to loan him out to have more game time.
Norwich, Burnley, Cardiff, Barnsley and Stoke are also interested.
Reported annual salary £1.3m, out of range for the Swans unless Liverpool pay part of it.

Not Swans related but a surprising move for newly promoted PL club and Norwich City’s best player.
Aston Villa agree an initial fee of £33m for 24 year-old Argentine attacking-midfielder Emiliano Buendia.
Great player and always seemed to score against us!

There will come a time when we’ll run out of saleable assets, that’s when the hedge-funders will dump us.

Some positive news, hooray.
Wigan’s 19 year old out of contract striker Kyle Joseph reportedly had a medical yesterday and will be joining us
He scored 5 goals in 14 matches after returning from a back injury last October.
Compensation will be due as he’s under 24 years old.

According to Press reports we are still strongly linked with French striker Thomas Henry, playing with Belgian First Division B Club - OH Leuven.
He scored 26 goals and 6 assists in 31 match last season. Probably way out of our budget range, plus he wants to play at a higher level than Swansea.
Other media suggestions for our striker search are
Senegalese International striker Famara Diedihou, 28 year old 6’4” Bristol City player, 51 goals in 169 matches. Bought for £5.3m, his four year contract ends this month.
Joe Pigott, 27 years old, 6’2” AFC Wimbledon striker, 54 goals in 157 matches.

Ryan Longman, 20 year old, 5’11” Brighton striker/winger, going into the last year of his contract, on loan at AFC Wimbledon last season where he scored 8 goals in 44 matches.

A host of clubs, including Swansea apparently, want Carlos Mendes Gomes. He was born in Senegal, but brought up Spanish, after his family moved to Lanzarote where his father worked in construction.
The 22 year old 5’10” Morecambe winger scored 16 goals and 5 assists in 46 games in L2 last season during their successful promotion push to L1. Morecambe value him at 500k.

West Brom, who are close to appointing Barnsley boss Valerien Ismael as their new manager, want to sign Stoke City midfielder and ex-Swan flop, 30 year old Sam Clucas.

Wolves have a new manager, Portuguese Bruno Lage. Remember he was assistant manager here to Carlos Carvalhal (now with SC Brega) when we were in the PL.
Lage recently spent 18 months in charge at Benfica.

On our radar is Burnley’s Irish centre-back, 23 year old six footer, and former Man Utd Academy product, Jimmy Dunne. He is out of contract at the end of this month and interesting Swansea, who need to replace loanee Marc Guehi, recently returned to parent club Chelsea. Signed by Burnley in 2016, he made three first team appearances for them and has spent most of his time out on loan at Barrow, Accrington, Hearts, Sunderland, and Fleetwood.

PSV Eindhoven and Swansea have reportedly agreed a fee for striker Joel Piroe with one year left on his contract. He’s 21 years old and 5’11”. He’s scored a pretty unimpressive three goals in 26 games over the last two seasons and was on loan at Sparta Rotterdam last season.
Mainly plays as a centre-forward but has played on both wings.
Valued on TransferMarkt at 675k.

Promising youngster Joel Piroe, scoring only 3 goals last season, has apparently had a medical with us, all that remains before an official announcement is sorting out visa issues.
This probably ends our interest in a recognised free scoring striker, 31 goals last season, Thomas Henry. He was just what we needed, but out of our club owners price range.
