Summer Transfer Rumour Thread

Fitness does seem to be an issue, he has been there years and not played that many games and consecutively. That may be part down to the ridiculous squad size at Ipswich as he has been rated when fit. With all the other injuries last season and so far this, fingers crossed we could do without so much disruption with a smallish squad.

Must be a bit annoying for the club when the club we're buying from have their local media announce it, given how quiet we keep things

Seems to be very highly thought of. A fresh start, hopefully injury free and MA whispering in his ear, may work wonders.

Mr Diagonal has only ever been at Ipswich, so wherever he pitches up, settling in to a new club will be an unknown challenge.
The good news:
4 goals in the first ten games last season. 1 goal in his whole career before that.
Fit for 28 starts and 9 times on the bench, which looks pretty good in comparison to our numbers. And bearing in mind the schedule, the COVID issues and the fact that both ipswich managers played him.
Ironically, looks like he had his most effective season to date.

would like to see us make a few signings where pace is a primary attribute. very concerned we've shed those kind of players (johnson, rogers, anderson, elbouzedi, eyoma) & not replaced them. much of our best football was built off sitting deep & countering quickly. will not work with the current crop. hope to be proven wrong.

From the eadt article. "The Blues took a one-year extension option in the 25-year-old's contract at the end of last season, but he was quickly made available for transfer by boss Paul Cook and started pre-season training with the Under-23s."
This makes it seem like there will be a fee - the extension to the contract to guarantee some kind of fee. Or did he sign a new contract and then soon after get into some disciplinary issue?
Was an automatic appearance based extension I believe.
