Summer 2020 Transfer Window

Still not strengthening of our crap squad I see...stop jacking around Levy and get something done.

So...why go for Wilson and not Ings? Danny was in the running for the damn boot this year. Very underrated striker.

Also I keep hearing we need to hold our breath for Parrott...huh? Is that how far we have fallen...I mean damn!

And that is just the attack weakness on our team...holy crap everything DM and back is kind of in shambles. We need a DM, RB, CB, and hell throw in a LB as well since we all know Davies is nothing but a solid stop gap.
USA, my question regards Ings is...would he swap 1st choice football for bench warming and playing in the cup sides, for me I do not think so.

This will go on forever. We need another striker to play WITH Harry and NOT instead of Harry when he's injured, otherwise forget it. Can you imagine Ings-Milik or whoever of some standing coming here to warm the bench?

This brings up the old starting nugget again. Who starts the game is not necessarily that important or an indicator of the ultimate strategy. Harry needs protecting either by being subbed or coming on later. It's not an either or situation as I see it.

The issue with fans is they expect a certain quality with who we sign and that quality of player wants guaranteed first team football. In the striker position, everyone knows Harry is king at this club and it would either take big wages to convince someone to play second fiddle or we would need to make a smart signing with someone who can play as a striker AND in one of the other positions in attack.

OR, we sign a player of lesser quality but someone who has the ability to support players like Son, Moura, Bergwijn, Dele, Lo Celso and allow them to have bigger impacts on the game. Ings, for example, is right not to consider a move to us. He spent too long not playing at Liverpool so why would he risk that again, because it would be a risk.

Who we can attract, who we can afford and who wants the very clear role we have to offer is very much up for debate. It is why we are seeing links to Wilson and Deeney.

I think Eze could work in a midfield flat 3 or AM in an attacking 3.

Lo Celso Hojbjerg Ndombele
(Sissoko Winks Eze)

Agree about Dele there's not many systems he fits and we should really consider trying to move him on while other teams might still consider him a good player and raise money for our transfers. And agree about selling Dier and getting another better centre back but sadly it looks like he's a Jose favourite for now.

I think Tanganga will be used as cover for all positions across the back Jose was even starting him at LB in games ahead of Sessegnon.

I would've liked us to get Alex Telles for left back who is tall and strong enough but very good quality balance of both defending and attacking plus a freekick specialist and in the last year of contract. But I don't think we'll sign a left back.

There is no argument from me on Deles drop in performance, its plain to see. He has said a few days ago his muscle injury has been tough to deal with.
To put it into context though over the last 3 seasons ( which is the period of apparent concern ) he has scored or assisted every other game near as damn it in the PL. 86 appearances and over 40 goals and assists combined.

All through the slaggings off he's attracted here - I've repeatedly said how tough his soft issue injuries have been to deal with - Poch played him into the ground, and played him when not fully fit.

IF and it's a big IF he finally gets the chance to rest them out (which is the only way I know of getting them out along with smart recovery strategies) he'll bounce back.

We've stepped up our intentions of signing Eze. Talks are advancing over the sale of Amos to QPR and there are also talks of Clarke either being used as extra bait or extending his loan as a part of the deal.

I'm going to make a prediction now, that if we do sign Eze, Jose intends on adapting his play to be Kane's backup as well as an AM.

Or, media reports of our ongoing interest in Eze have picked up.

And you're right, he would be a Dele 'understudy' as a second striker/attacking CM.

It would be much more shocking for this deal not to go down, with all the work that's gone into it the past year or so. I think this kid could well be a superstar.

Would make sense for Clarke to start w Spurs first team, and then send him out in the sub-window to a Champ side. I'd like to see him get involved in pre-season and see if we've bought a player or a dud.

He looks a prospect, that's for sure. Apparently QPR have ramped up their efforts to get Amos signed, which is why the Eze talk has increased. The kid is ready to step up and we are by no means the only ones interested. Amos is our ace card though.

Clarke is an interesting one. He has talent but we didnt do enough to guide him through this big move. He went back to Leeds with a bit of a chip on his shoulder and Bielsa made a real point of putting him in his place. Like you say, a bit of time spent with our first team *should* re-align his compass and hopefully he gets back on track.

Keeping all our players here and making them fight for their places must be a major. Loaning players out that have achieved first team places already is a negative move. We need all our players with a new campaign ahead. Surely Mourinho can make the right selections this time around, if not, sack him.

We had discussions with his people, they turned us down flat because of Harry.

Rightly so...that is our dilemma...why would a quality striker want to come to Spurs to play second fiddle to Kane...even when he is playing horrible? I mean are we simply asking that person to wait for the eventual injury or just to play some off cup match.

Pathetic...we have backed ourselves into this corner via how we have handled Kane these last seasons...totally SPURS fault...we have nobody to blame but ourselves.

Honestly I wouldn't want to come to Spurs either...unless Kane departs...and only then.

Bingo!

Matic I agree to an extent but if you look at City...Aguero was King there..but the found a way to integrate Sterling and others and Aguero was a professional enough to play along....

This is the difference...we are a one way street...Kane all day every day if he is healthy.
