Summer 2019 Transfer target speculation and fantasies

It’s called the beautiful game.

I can agree the players themselves are more beautiful - that's inside and out compared to the arseholes who pull on the mens shirts and cheat their way through games. I couldn't argue that the game itself is though. Watched some of the Germany vs Spain game earlier. Lost the plot with it after about 20-25 mins with so many mistakes, mis-placed passes and general lack of skill. I still believe that it's on the right trajectory though, but not going to spend my quality time watching it just yet. I'll try again in 4 years :-)

The USA were brilliant...very few misplaced passes, intelligent movement off the ball, clinical finishing....some teams are better than others.

VAR struck again to give a penalty to France today....never in a million years.

So they've spent 314m already on 6 players (Mendy confirmed today) and could spend another 100m on a Pogba or Eriksen. That's 414m on incoming. They can then recoup 180-240m on outgoing 11 players, meaning their net spend will be 174-234m. I'm not understanding where the 30-40m net spending number comes from in your response. Feels a lot more to me but I could be being thick.

Either way, where I'm going with this is Spurs. We have bought nobody since Moura and all of our previous commitments on stage payments have surely slowed down or finished on previously bought players. There's been no new deposits or up front bonuses paid to new players for some time. We've also got Prem payments and CL monies and been told that the stadium cashflow is in a different place than the football side. We have nowhere near 36 senior players.

It would be great for the optics of the club and the attractiveness to new players if we closed any deal early. You'd have thought we'd have had one banker like Utd had with Daniel James. Apparently not.

It once again starting to feel like something is not quite right in taking care of business. I was convinced we'd see an early deal.
Dont you get sick of being right? Spot on as ever, call me in minimum of four years regards the women's game. More importantly the lack of a Daniel James (Aaron's would have been appropriate )to show that actual forward planning and a coherent costed strategy was in place is disturbing. As you say the optics alone made it a good idea. On Madrid I must also have become financially illiterate because I cant for the life of me see how EX got them numbers either. I assume the bent Madrid government will buy a car park off the club at vastly inflated sums to make all of this FFP compliant.

I'm surprised so many are watching the women's football. I really couldn't give a shit about it. Will never watch it.
I think you can enjoy Women’s Football just as much. These women have a lot of talent, you just have to look for it. For example, Alex Morgan (see picture below) scored 5 times last night! She started the night out with a rocket right down the middle. You could see the look of relief and elation on her face. It had been nearly 12 minutes of play! The next was a simple tap-in but you could tell it was equally enjoyable. What followed didn’t look very impressive. It was just a little flick that barely crossed the line. However, for those who truly understand the game, it takes a great deal of talent and practice to do a little flick like that. That’s all that was needed to send her into a frenzy. The fourth one was a doozy. A nasty long curler that nearly tore the back netting. It was impressive! Alex celebrated with all her girlfriends right after it happened. Was that five? Oops, I nearly forgot. Alex also scored with her head. She was in the right place at the right time. This wasn’t luck though, she has an uncanny ability to read the game and know what is going to happen next. It came at her with a lot of pace and all she had to do was direct it in. It wasn’t as satisfying as the others but it still warranted a fun celebration that saw her slide on her knees. The talent she has is incredible and to think she lasted the entire 90 minutes and then kept going into extra time.

Note: If you don’t read this with a dirty mind, you just wasted your time.

As a side.

I think Sissoko could also do a job at RB if needed.

With all due respect to you Kingy Sissoko at RB is just not good enough. We don't need a fill in or some that can 'do a job'. We've not gone close to replacing Walker and if we're serious about winning stuff and giving this title a nudge, we need a seriously brilliant RB and LB. We have the middle sorted if Toby and Jan.

Attack starts with defense.

So true alot of our decline can be attributed to the failure to get the right specialist fullbacks into the side. Davis is game and a Sissoko filling in, is yet again, not addressing how important to the way we want to play fullback is. The reason we have been less dynamic, and far too side to side over the last season linked directly to the lack of dynamism at fullback...Oh and Swanky your Stateside so get the patriotic excitement but I saw in the pub some of that game. Let's be kind and say I think my nephews under 12 team could have beat them nice Thai women, I have never in my life seen a poorer understanding of how to play even rudimentary soccer than some of that some unkind people in the pub started laughing at one passage of play. It's why I can not watch it. Whilst fully acknowledging the effort. Bad sport of any kind bores me I get excited by things I can't do,not stuff I'm way better than. Cute woman though.

lack of dynamism at fullbacks due mainly to playing Davies and the busted-flush 'oooohh he's got a lovely cross' Trippier.

Rose and Aurier will correct that next season, at no extra outley.

It is 100% sexual innuendo and for a laugh. None of it is literal. You need to read it again!

LOl!

Sorry , left a 1 out of it - should have read: 130-40 mill (corrected now); the gap difference (at the moment) is the difference between up front fees and later bonus fees they might only pay..

Here we go again...a tough pre=season schedule has been announced.....a chance to firmly bed in the new signings and be ready to rock n roll for the new season............where are they?

I wouldn't get too excited about it yet, so far most of the PL is still sleeping...you know it's almost comotose when the biggest deal so far is a kid to manure for £12 mill + add ons..

1 month after preseason starts and 2 weeks before our first game is too late for panicking.

Praying will do nicely though.
Take your point but I think the fact that no one (EPL sides) have done any serious business, is no reason to panic (yet)!

No other PL side have failed to sign a player in the last 12 months or take 2 years to bed in new players.

You could argue that other top teams cant or shouldnt sign as many players, so it isn't as pressing for them. Chavs are banned, City and Pool already have incredible squads.

Either way, I don't care what others do or don't. We need to sign early.
