Summer 2017 Transfer Window

I'm shocked that Jota was snapped up for only £6m.

The player I would have gone for is Forestieri.
 
Forestieri? The same player who has now thrown his toys out of the pram at least twice because he can't force a move? The same player who has been disciplined by his club countless times for attitude issues? The same player that does something brilliant about once every five matches? May as well bring back Bacuna and Helenius while we're at it...
 
So 442 magazine reckon that John Terry was the worst signing of the window.
"Terry is no Dave Mackay and Bruce is certainly no Brian Clough."
A bit harsh.
 
If Bruce starts playing a sensible balanced formation then Terry will be fine. Too many players in defence means a weak defence, not a strong one. We need a midfield which will take the game up the pitch.

Yes the same one. He has hated being at Wednesday for ages now. The fans there love him despite him trying to get away. On his day he's a match winner and reminds me of Carbone.

Why a bit harsh Ironside, its nothing but the truth.
By selling Baker and replacing him with Terry, we have weakened what was becoming a more than decent centreback partnership, that was two thirds of what could have been turned into a three man back line.

I agree 1958. The partnership of Baker and Chester worked really well last season.

I was all for signing Terry but have so far been very disappointed.
 
It's true he hasn't made us more secure at the back so far. I wasn't convinced by the Chester/Baker partnership however. Too many late goals conceded and dropped points as a result. I was hoping for a bit more leadership and organisation to be honest.
 
Baker is a bobby average player, he makes a few last ditch tackles (because he's in the wrong position to begin with) and everyone thinks he's a right lad. Good defenders read the game.

I would have him over Samba tho.

He could quite easily still be playing in the premier league , yet he is playing for a championship club who are coming back from a crises.

So, he may not be pulling up the trees he did with Chelsea YET, but give the guy a break. For 22 years he has been playing with Chelsea. Think about how you would feel changing to a different company after 22 years. May take some adjustment?.
Probably not, the Peter Perfects on here would be fine.


 
For the record I have never questioned the JT signing . It's one of the best signings ever by the club imho up there with Yorke and God

To be fair you can question it if Bruce decides to play in a way that doesnt get the best out of him or perhaps thats considered more a 'questioning Bruce' type of thing? I mean if Bruce is going to keep pursuing this 3 man backline he has never successfully implemented then you would question why you'd bring in a player who cannot play in a back 3.

If Bruce just goes back to basics, players a four man backline without a high line and Jedinak protecting nicely we'll see JT at his best.

I will question the Glenn Whelan signing like I did from the very beginning. A 'stalwart' of the EPL for 10 years baffles me when I've the vast majority of his 82 outtings for Ireland and never once thought we would miss him. Yet he is continuously picked, its one of the most puzzling things I have had to contemplate as a football fan. Westwood completed 5 yard sideways passes Whelan doesn't but I'll admit he is stronger in the tackle.
