Perhaps not particularly stupid...but yesterday when opening a monitor box at work, I somehow slipped and the box edge papercut me under my thumbnail - safe to say that bit is extremely nerve-filled and well supplied with blood, so it hurt like hell and bled like it too. It seems the odds were against me with the logistics of that one

Decided to pull a wheelie on my bicycle as a lad but unfortunately I had neglected to make sure that the front wheel was secure enough. It wasn't and fell out. I went flying and as you do decided to break my fall by using my left arm which didn't appreciate such use as it bent backwards and snapped.

I suspect many of these tales will end up with a physical injury

I got hit by a car turning right when I was on my bike. I got two broken arms breaking my fall
