Stop the adds

Vital Reserves Team
I am sick and tired of the adds on this site. As soon as I log on to the site my screen is taken up with a giant add I have to remove. More often than not a few seconds later it appears again. This morning one appeared without it's own cross in the corner, and I had to close the window. Sometimes videos appear playing bloody adverts. Other forums don't have this crap, so why does this one.

Please don't bother to say "if you don't like it, go elsewhere", it's boring and unconstructive.

Without the ads there wouldn't be Vital spurs. They pay the fear his money.

Add blocker is your best weapon.

Ads make free browsing possible on the Internet. Imaging having to pay subscriptions to every site you wish to access. Having adds on a forum is normal, what must be prevented are the intrusive ones that block the entire screen.

I voted NO ADS but I mean no excess of Ads. A few here and there are ok but we're inundated by them. You have to wait the 15 secs or so for the ad to close and need to close it as well, it doesn't just disappear. Then the music starts and you have to either go searching for the ad that's causing it or turn your level down on your device.

While we're at it, does anyone know how to delete a banner at the bottom of the screen on live streaming that covers the full screen icon? INFURIATING!

What would be better is a main and official advertiser for the Vital Spurs site that gets a large AD and side banners in the non working area and scores well for the advertiser, maybe even having our own advertiser for Vital Spurs, so that if we get a large number of hits to the site, the advertiser gets better returns. We get much better hits than most Vital sites BECAUSE OUR FANS ARE BETTER AND MORE INTELLIGENT! Obviously, because they support Spurs.

Unfortunately I access the site mostly using my mobile. I don't wish to root it and make the warranty void simply to put adblocker on it.

Also, if they are going to have pop up ads, make sure they load at the same time as the page. Make sure they don't disable your ability to scroll across the page just because there's some stupid slow loading car moving all over the place.

Same position as Meee93 out at work between meetings I'm on the phone and will not void the phone with ad block.

You don't have to; there are other ways - this article will give you some options and how to minimise ads without compromising your phone/warranty.

A better way may be ditch android and go windows or apple - adblocker happily works on both; android is turning into a cumbersome, flakey o/s anyway...

It's also worth knowing that the site lives or dies on it's ad income; being selective when costs keep rising and ad income keeps declining isn't a feasible option - I do wonder if we'd all have a better experience if we'd be prepared to pay £5 or £10 a YEAR for an ad-free site (i.e. you get ad's if you don't pay!)...

Would anyone be prepared to pay that minuscule sum for the pleasure? Or would it stop you coming here?

Yep Id pay a fiver for the option of ad free a tenner for Griddo free.

LOL!

Like you, I'd happily pay a tenner or more for 'premium' membership.

As much as I enjoy this forum, I highly doubt I'd would pay to use the site. Especially when there are so many alternatives out there..

Then you could easily remain on of those who 'suffer' the ads...bills have to be paid, and as I've shown there are ways to block / reduce the volume of ads you see...

I have no problems with ads, I've said before they are what allow so much content on the internet to be 'free'. I just think it's bad practice for sites to use such intrusive ads that put off user experience. Also, use of aggressive ad blockers will reduce the amount of forum users that get exposed to ads(even of the non intrusive kind), thus reducing the effectiveness of them, and therefore the income generated by them.

What I'm saying is, if it comes down to a choice between paying, putting up with intrusive ads or leaving. I know which I would do!
