Stoke v Swans

Tough match coming up tonight with seven changes from Saturday. Typically Ryan Woods, who was almost our player, makes his debut in midfield for Stoke. Isn’t it ironic then, but probably no surprise, that our midfield is decimated through injury. Carroll, Fer, and Fulton out, and Grimes and Naughton having to fill in. Routledge, Dyer, James, Carter-Vickers, and Olsson, also come in.
Full team -
Mulder, Roberts, Carter-Vickers, VdH, Olsson, Naughton, Grimes, Dyer, Byers, James, Routledge
Subs -
Nordfelt, McBurnie, Asoro, McKay, Rodon, John, Dhanda

The one the hedge fund owners couldn’t afford, Ryan Woods MOM.
Sadly he should have been playing for us tonight after waiting in vain on transfer deadline day to come to Swansea with his bags packed ready, only for the yanks to pull the plug on the deal last minute, and already that decision has come back to bite us.
Inevitably another ex player, had to be that Allen again unfortunately, scored against us.
It was the most blatantly offside goal ever, dozy officials couldn’t see it though, unbelievable. No wonder ref Tierney has been demoted from the PL, it was right in front of him.
After the goal we visibly tired, with some players rusty, not having played.
Not too impressed with subs Asoro, nor Dhanda. The other sub McBurnie though almost scored with a turn and shot which Butland tipped over the bar. Good league debut from young Byers.
The Middlesboro match will be a lot tougher than this.

You know I often wonder if our fans anti English chanting influences match officials.
I know it’s only banter between rival fans but don’t they realise these match officials, our manager, and quite a few of our players are English!
That offside goal last night, the linesman surely saw it?
And that ref last Sat against Forest when he ignored their rough house tactics throughout, two of our players off injured at half time, one a head injury and another an almost ankle breaking diving tackle in which the ref waved play on when it should have been a red card. Just two examples in a history of controversial decisions.

Didn't think much of the lineup before the game but they soon proved us all wrong. I've learnt not to say too about them as they often surprise us on the pitch and they did that. Another poor officiating performance with a blatant offside goal separating the two sides. We have a good account of ourselves first half and after a good start in the 2nd, we faded after the goal. McBurnie gave us something up top but we really did need players like Celina and Montero to turn it for us.
