Many of their fans have been calling for his head for some time and they don't appear very happy with the caretaker replacements from within the club. For me it is reminiscent of the Peter Daniel appointment in 1987 and we all know how that ended up. That said they probably need 3 points to avoid the drop and one of the games is against us.

Just had a quick trawl through devachat and it doesn't make pretty reading - there are loads of threads on there going back months regarding Burr. Here's just two - one was started before he was sacked, one after:

Is he really what we need? Doesn't fit with Bob's statement yesterday about wanting a young up-and-coming manager - Burr is 56.

To be honest, I hope the rumours aren't true.

He looked a good appointment for them at the time after his Kiddy exploits but as it turned out, what he had to play with at Kiddy was far different from Chester.

I'd not have minded him at Lincoln once upon a time but not anymore. Kiddy are looking for a manager, so I think he might end up back there for their Conference North season.
