I agree.
If this was Rooney or Rashford you would never hear the end of it.

However, we do have question the effectiveness (or lack of it) of our own PR department at the club.
Why aren't they pushing and promoting it to all and sundry?
The rags PR machine would be all over this as would the scousers.
We don't do ourselves any favours at times.

Because the best guys don't look for praise when doing it.

I think Craig Bellamy is a prime example here, does a lot of charity work and only says something when he is asked, but does not go out and say look at me look what I've done and therefore it is best to keep it quiet unless it is highlighted as above.

Good point.

Also you only tend to read about the charitable activities in longer interviews/articles, not in 'Sterling declared fit for weekend fixture - update on charity work to follow...'.

 
Think TGR is meaning it would be great publicity for the club rather than just for the player.
 
Seems to be finding his form again, three assists in his last two England games. Well in Raheem, hopefully he can carry that good form into the Euros, give him some confidence going into preseason.

It's funny the media portrayal of the lad, between this charity work and his obvious desire to improve himself what with his staying back after training to work on his shooting and now getting psychological help to improve his mentality. It's in stark contrast to the image that is peddled by the hacks.
 
He was an easy target.

Big money move leaving the media darlings and people's champions to join the team that is 'ruining football' (TM the British Media). A young man who was on the receiving end of dogs abuse from all and sundry irrespective of whether they were connected with Liverpool. I would defy any 20 year old to be able to maintain their form under the sustained character assassination he faced over an extended period time.

There were good signs of his confidence returning which is promising and I think he could well blossom under our new coach.
 
I'm absolutely certain he will begin to blossom under Pep.
He had obviously lost all confidence under Pellegrini and it was clear he wasn't enjoying his football.
Can't wait to see him running at defenders next season and causing havoc in general.
