For me the comments below from Danny Murphy sum up our position perfectly.

Too many times recently, I've seen Nottingham Forest look passive," said Murphy.

"Whether that's legginess from the amount of games in which Sean Dyche has had to play the same players. He gave fringe players the chance to stake their claim against Wrexham and they didn't take it, so he's had to pick the same eight or nine week in week out.

"I've done it myself and it's hard trying to play every few days and playing to your best, especially under pressure of relegation. Plus, they are trying to manage Europe as well."

I said in another thread European football came too soon for us. Plenty of teams in previous seasons have seen their Premier League form drop due to the rigours of European games as well. We had a solid first 11/12 and needed quality recruitment to cater for the additional games - that didn’t happen. Too many unproven, younger talents that have failed to adjust to the physical demands of the PL.

Ally this to Nuno pissing off, the disastrous appointment of Ange and Dyche then trying to garner results with a team utterly bereft of confidence and with the spectre of relegation looming large and its easy to see why we are where we are.

One thing’s for sure there’ll be plenty of twists and turns to come yet and if Dyche keeps us up he will have done a remarkable job.

Wednesday is a get out for jail free. We couldn’t have picked a better fixture. If we don’t win that then we deserve all we get.
You’d think so wouldn’t you but just take a look at our home record against Wolves over the years & it doesn’t make pleasant reading. Add that to our home record as a whole this season & wolves recent improvement & I reckon we get a draw at best

It's not a get of jail free, it's a chance. It's up to us to actually take it and get ourselves in a better position. If we don't show up it means shit, we'll get turned over.
It's a Chance, rather that Get Out of Jail Free but I don't see Dyche taking second place in a beauty contest and winning twenty quid.

Wee jock called the position of our form under Dyche ages ago. That we would stutter between good runs of result and then awful performances and bad results.

To be fair that is what we are seeing but focusing on the long term (for this season) target that is returning us enough points to stay safe.

I'm still seeing plenty enough form across the fixtures to get us over the line so trying to focus holistically rather than piecemeal.

I'm fed up of flip floping about Dyche so just gonna give it to the end of season and make my assessment then. Continuing to miss opportunities at points in these type of fixtures, Everton, Leeds etc is really frustrating and he needs to find a way to improve that even if he is somewhat hamstrung with weak second 11.

Think we really could have done with a Jota Silva on the bench for this situation we are in. That is one player you did know was going to come on and at least put the effort in. Led to believe he was happy with his squad role but still shipped out without being given a chance to build on his first season.

Fail to win Wednesday what does EM do?
What if we lose 0-1 to Wolves after Wham win 1-0 against Man U...

We're outside the relegation zone on goal difference: does EM sack Dyche and appoint Andy Reid?

We ain't getting a coach of any worth now - i mean no one decent (and who is out there decent enough) will touch the job with a barge pole - so it'll have to be an internal appointment.

The Brazilians would like Dyche gone, and maybe a few of the players.

Reidy might do the trick, but equally he could be found to be incompetent and out of his depth = relegation.

I agree, it’s why I asked the question

Here’s a different question. We survive and Dyche won’t be the manager, we all know that

We know Ferreira and Silva are mangers we have been prominently linked with
Your point on the Brazilians is a good one. Both coaches are Portuguese. Do we try Silva who’s good and steady, or Ferreira who’s a winner in Brazil
The Brazilians I think would welcome either, but EM craves progress and success. Would the board roll the dice on Ferreira over Silva assuming both are attainable?
It’s a hypothetical question. @mao tse tung likely knows more on our Ferreira efforts

Personally I think we should take that risk and hope we find our version of Glaser, Iraola etc

I would not hold your breath on Ferreira coming here; he has turned us down twice.

I would hope there is a better chance of Silva coming here, but that will depend on two things:

Will Silva have a better offer?

You would think there will be a good chance of that.

What are the relations like between EM and Silva's agent - Jorge Mendes?

Probably not the best after what happened with Nuno, but I suppose money talks in the end.

Its Wolfie who claimed that the Brazilians despise Dyche.

TBF, he has his ear to the ground and is defo ITK, so tend to trust what he says.

Would Silva consider the job - team 1 finishes top-10, Forest bottom 1/3 with a basket case of a senior management structure?

I found it hard to believe Nuno would tear down everything he had here on behalf of his agent. But he did. It seems crazy that agents have that amount of influence and control.

Anyone who has influence in the recruitment of players within a club, shouldn't be allowed to have any affinity with a particular agent IMO. The whole set up stinks really, I've said before that it is the modern day equivalent of the old bung in cash in a plain brown envelope so beloved by managers of a certain era allegedly

Some very good points there.

I got back from a week end away last night and I am not surprised by the reaction to the results.

You would think that some people would learn things from experience, but no.

We, and all the other clubs for that matter, will lose points we did not expect to lose and pick up points we did not expect to pick up.

It happens every season.

Far too early to go into panic mode.
