I am 35 and don't live with my mommy unfortunatley lol, i love Star Wars it takes me back to all the christmas's it was on TV every year over and over in the 80's growing up with the excitment of the toy figures being bought you and the star wars vehilce ships i still got all my old figures and a couple of ships, i bought my eldest this year some new type star wars toys and last year he got the millenium falcon,,,,,for me this is what makes star wars the toys they take me back to my childhood and great happy memories plus its just cool, lightsabers battles, spaceships that make great noises and fast, a fit proncess, it just ticks all my boxes even at this age.

It's good fun but nowhere near to the classic status many afford it.

great films, love them, I'm 46 and don't live at home !

They are classics of their time no matter what Mr Grumpy above says!

Pointless thread!. Of course they are good!

Certain films just have got that thing. Whatever that thing is. My kids, who were born just under 30 years after the originals love them. That includes the much criticised prequels.

As George Lucas has apparently said in the past.
"I made the films for kids, its not my fault adults love them".

It's no more pointless a thread than any other. I have to say I watched the first one again yesterday and the reality is it is dreadful. Terrible script, dialogue and acting. I suppose one thing in its favour is the visuals, it was striking, and influenced every science fiction drama since. But as a movie, it's toss.

Obviously, or not as it appears. The comment about pointless thread was tongue in cheek.
Don't give into your anger for Star Wars wurzel. Anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering.

I'm not angry at all, I just didn't know that your comment was tongue in cheek. It helps on forums to use characters or end with a LOL or something to indicate that humour is intended.

FFS,LOL, the angry part of the post was an ITK joke about Star Wars. A quote from Yoda in the second film of the series ESB. So BTW wasn't suggesting you were really angry. PMSL about it though. Doesn't sound like you are going to be my BFF so SOZ to offend.
IMHO Star Wars is still XL ENT.
:14:

To be fair, if you are watching the first one now it will probably look dated as it was late 70's when it came out. But I love them and the memories as well! I also read the books so I'm just proper brilliant me.

I loved all the Star Wars until Tom came along, now I hate them and the pain they cause me.... :95:

I was going this afternoon to watch the 3d new one but my bloody bug won't clear up so decided I might have a sleep instead! :3:

Well Mark Kermode has just reviewed the new movie and giving it a great review. I respect his opinion and will look forward to it. Apparently the visuals are amazing.
