Is there a squad size limit in the Championship? Knock out the U21s and the squad is 25 players.

We have 6 players 33 or over. Of those, Samba looks redundant. There is maybe an argument for keeping Bunn as backup backup keeper, but also arguments for letting him go; both are out of contract this summer. We don't know what Terry's situation is and maybe even he doesn't. Both Hutton and Terry are out of contract this summer but there are arguments for keeping both. Jedinak and Whelan have another year to run so no immediate questions; can't see us letting either go this year.

Of the rest, 3 players are out of contract this summer. Presumably we aim to keep Johnstone and Snodgrass and let Gabby go.

Mac, we have Johnstone, Onomah and Snodgrass on loan.
As for Gabby, I can't be sure that after the bigging-up he got from Mr. Bruce earlier in the season, that he won't be offered a new contract.
I think Hutton should be offered another contract, even if its just a one year rolling contract.
Bunn has done nothing to warrant a renewal.
As you say no one has a clue what Terry will do.

I think the big problem we have is Tshibola. He is contracted until 2020 and is 23 years old, that is a little too old to be 'learning the job' don't you think?
 
O’hare has made league appearances in the first team this season so he is obviously registered as a first team squad member in some capacity

They are listed as first team squad on the AVFC website, 58... where did you get your list?

Not that it matters much - they would bring the squad average age down a little.
 
Don't see Tshibola as a great problem. If Bruce doesn't think he's going to get game time here then try and get him a loan where he'll play; maybe Clarke at Kilmarnock might take him. If he starts getting the consistency required he could be useful as Jedinak and Whelan wind down. The odd time he's appeared for the U21s I thought he looked OK, when going forward he drifts over the ground making it look easy, and he scored a cracking goal the other night.
 
Tshibola will go one of three ways. Either a) we find a buyer as we did for Westwood and Veretout (who both had contracts until 2020), b) gets numerous loan deals as his contract rolls down like Gil, or c) lets his career end by staying put as a certain Mr Richards is doing.

Or a new manager will appear and might like him!

The squad is large and that doesn't include the ones out on loan - Gollini, Gardner, Gil, McCormack, etc.
