Vital Champions League
It has been a bit of a feeling that Southampton have been one of our bogey teams. We seemed to lose out a lot to moments of brilliance from Le Tissier.

It's amazing to think that we haven't beaten Southampton in the last 7 fixtures home and away.

In that time, we have 3 draws and -11 goal difference.

noises coming from the players / manager, we are going to have a right good go at them, here's hoping eh?
with that in mind i have predicted 3-1

Lets hope the manager (or some would blindly argue Ashley) :81: gets the team ready to fight like the same animals a shocked Mourinho ranted about after they outfought his players all over the pitch to keep our premiership hopes alive.

Crucial points have been lost this campaign through obvious lack of effort as well as tactics that clearly lacked bottle.

That piss poor excuse pointing to a lack of quality on the pitch being the reason for our plight has being well and truly debunked.

As other managers and squads have shown this season, effort and fight = points.

Six points from the next two games por favor.

We need a win. Lose and I think we are down.
Hopeful as they are powder puff in attack but so are we.

We have scored more goals than seventh placed Burnley Owl and roughly the same as Swansea,Huddersfield,Southampton Palace and Stoke.

We have a massive chance with our next two games to lay the home issues to rest once and for all, almost secure another season of loot towards Ashley's bank accounts and cause further misery to the unwashed down the road.

We do so having the 3rd worst home record with only Southampton and West Brom worse than us on their own patch. We've scored only 12 goals but then again, only conceded 15. We have gained the same amount of points at home as Southampton but theyve played two more games there.

Away from home, Southampton have a similar record to ours. They have scored 13 times but conceded on 20 occasions. We have played away from St James' two games more than them with their 12 points recouped coming in 13 games while we have played 15 to gain our 13 points.

Current form has this down as a scoring 1-1 draw with us both gaining 6 points out of our last six games. Both securing the points with 1 win and 3 draws. We also have similar form out of the last 10 games with us both losing 3 times. Us gaining 11 points to their 9.

The big difference is that our defeats have come home and away to Man City and away to Liverpool whilst theirs have come at home to Crystal Palace and Liverpool plus away to Spurs.

Hope we are not going to sit back now we have taken the lead. Need to put this game away and take chances.

Great performance and result . A win against Huddersfield would be a real boon ahead of some tricky fixtures .

Yes, not a bad day.

We could have had Joe Hart on loan. We cold still have had Pards as manager.

How much higher could we have been if Rafa had got his way on transfers. Kennerdy would have added a different dimension sooner.

The standard below us is really helping and that does our goal difference no harm, Palace and Stoke defeats required now for a really good weekend.
