FA Cup Third Round Southampton v Swansea Sun 12 Jan 16:30

Live on BBC 2 Wales 16:15

A bit of a respite from the Championship after the intense Christmas schedule when we travel to Southampton in the Cup. There won’t be so much interest from Swans fans for this game now that our ex-manager Russell Martin has recently departed.

The Saints are having a torrid time since promotion and sit firmly at the bottom of the table on 6 points, 8 points adrift from Leicester, who are second from bottom. Third from bottom are Ipswich, making it the three promoted clubs from the Championship last season in the relegation places.

Southampton hit another low last Saturday, losing 0-5 at home to a Brentford side who gained their first away win of the season. This was the third time Southampton had conceded five goals at home this season.

No new manager bounce under Croatian Ivan Juric then after three defeats in his three games in charge. He had spent most of his managerial career in Italy, his last job was at Roma where he only lasted three months.

We meet up again with ex-Swans Nathan Wood, Ryan Manning and Flynn Downes. Wood played on the left side of a back three against Brentford last Saturday, Manning was an unused sub. Downes out injured, dead leg, expected return 12/1.

Good luck to the Swans.

I see Wycombe beat Portsmouth 2-0 in their home tie in the FA Cup last night.
We recently lost 4-0 to Portsmouth.
Their centre-back Joe Low, for whom we have put in an improved second bid, was not selected for this match.

Sorry guys I’ve mixed the threads up, my match comments are in the January Transfer Window by mistake, go to the back of the class son!

Southampton 3 (Khamaldeen 20’, Dibling 35’,65’) - Swansea 0

Kamaldeen ended a 37 game goal drought thanks to soft bellied Swans. He also had an assist for Dibling’s first goal.
Dibling is only 18 years old and has scored 2 goals in 19 PL appearances this season
